Beautiful! Is that color original?
Yes it is. So rare that I had people denying it existed. But if you look at that old 70/71 Panorama article on colors, it indicates 1/10th of 1% of 911s were painted that color. So far, I can only find one in the UK, but Frank Beck said he used to have one.
As is typical of the "period colors," this one was sprayed over when I bought the car. I was able to scrape the cheap black paint off in a lot of key places.
pretty cool dude. looks great.
That Turquoise is a great period color. Kudos for taking the chance to go back to it. I am sure it will be stunning when it's completed.

I overpaid for the car, which was a clapped-out track rat because a.) coolest color evah b.) no rust
I'm kind of on a bucket list quest for rare colors. Its odd how tastes change. A previous track car started out gold and i painted it Signal Yellow. Did a Viper Green 72E for someone else (it had been repainted burgundy) and helped a friend get an Ivory '72 (not light ivory) a couple years ago.
If anyone runs across a correct set of '71 seats, please let me know!
Rick: that DDK image from the UK is of the only other Turkis I've seen...

GREAT color;
controversy step aside.
Porsche made it, it's uncommonly rare, and it writes another paragraph in Porsche's past. All good.
What do you know of it's history ? Like, who was it delivered to and why did this color get chosen ?
( I have had 4 turquoise cars pass thru my life; none were Porsches. All either late 50's or early 60's Ford, Mercury or Chevrolet..... I have heard it all from 'so called enthusiasts' and heard some rude comments coming with a negative tone. We forget history and how fashion changes as quickly as a flickering candle flame....... to express a certain sentiment today usually falls to the sword of time. )
Installed the new steering wheel after finishing the horn button... stock steering wheel in storage now...
