Nice looking car. I see your 'yard fleet' in the background and it's very similar to mine... :)

What an excellent color!
Hi Guys, IVe posted before but had to post this evening shot 'cause it turned out great, a bit tacky - sunset and so on.
Who is going to be the first to spot whats wrong with my '71?
Attachment 226907
Hi Tony,
Nice shot, your 911 looks great to me. Was it originally an IT delivered car? Did your car come with the rear seat extenders? Just curious.:)
Hi Brian, sorry, I do not understand either of your questions. The car was originally delivered through Porsche Cars Southwest, San Antonio, Texas. Hope that answers the first question.
Tony

Hi Tony

Very nice JB, I used to live on Hebard St. in East Santa Cruz above Steamer Lane. I learned to surf in Santa Cruz and to this day I think it has the best surf on the planet. Just cold water is the only exception. The glassy long rides just don't get any better. Clean looking car you have there.
Mike, yes, you got it. I cannot leave anything alone, much harder to spot is the early door mirror, I think they are really nicely done and therefore the planned Talbot Berlin is staying on the shelf (for now).
Perhaps I should have started with a short wheelbase.

Beautiful shot of a beautiful car. I take it she is burgundy? Was it a straight swop for the lights (halogen sealed units inside?) from H1's or did you have to add any wiring/relays?
Regards
Mike

Terrific looking '67, Scott. I really like the wheel treatment. I'd guess that folks would like to see a couple of images of your build process; your chassis bits are quite worth viewing.
JVO
Scott, your 911 is one of my favorite. Such clean and pure lines. Loved following it home - the stance, the 185/70 tires on deep sixes - great look. Makes me want to repaint my white car in the correct Light Ivory.
Scotty, Wheezy looks fantastic.:)
Must have just had a bath after the first few days in WV. Yep, according the esteemed MW member RS, Wheezy is the best driving SWB in our neck of the woods. The driver is no slouch either though.;)
Did you loose your caps in the mountains?:D
Thanks guys! Wheezer loves to go play with his MW buds. Center caps most likely flew off chasing The Wolf and Boris on one of those romps :)
Without the help of Larry Marzano (the MW 911 mechanical genius), Randy for the use of his man cave during restoration and inspiration from the MW RG, this car would never had happened. Thank you all!
Couple of pics...
Great Scott!! :D Nice clean machine. I love the low, mean, purposeful stance.
One day my RatBasterd will be that clean... hmm, probably not.
Nice looking 67S Saz. Here are a few of my 72T targa.
Lots of work to still do with the interior, but body, paint and mechanicals are almost finished.
Scott's Mr. Modesty so here are a couple more images of some nice underneath bits.

Ok, finished, she's done and was a good girl during serveral rallies, track days and road trips through the alps and to le mans,
although i didn't treat her too good. A few things this winter, as for exemple installing the 2.7 rs spec. motor and adding a roll bar. Then she's done - I'll promisse :D

Hi, let me present myself. I am new on this forum. My name is David and I am a fan of 911 classics. I own two 1972 Coupe 911 2.4S. I bought these cars in Italy (the blue one in 2006 and the green in 2011) and they are in really nice original conditions.
Attachment 228183Attachment 228184Attachment 228185Attachment 228186
Welcome to the Registry David. Those are beautiful cars, I look forwrd to seeing more photos. :D
Che bella!
Hi Jens and Flieger, thanks for your messages! I will post more photos in the near future.
To Longranger, the color code of my green car is 224-9-3. I find this color really nice even if most of us are focused on the Viper green. Do you have the same color code on your car?
This car (chassis 1664) is matching numbers and had 2 owners before me. The second one was a young girl, she had it when she was 22 years old in 1979 and kept it till last year. The car still has it original paint inside the entire luggage compartment and the floor.
The blue one is Albert blau (chassis 1004). It had just one owner before me and I bought it directly to him on Ebay. It is also matching numbers and has no option. The first roman owner told me that this car was more valuable than the others 2.4s, because it brought the most beautiful girls in the world :D. Last winter, I found well preserved leather beige Recaro sport seats and I'm going to put it in the car soon, keeping the original one apart.
Both of them are true beauty, congrats!
Hello, David . . .
They look similar, huh? My car is a few years older --- '70 . . . re-sprayed also. The color code on the door tag reads 8383-H --- grünmet - Herberts (paint supplier). Which is kinda interesting because elferhelfer doesn't list the '8383' code 'till '71 . . .
http://www.elferhelfer.com/farben/farben70-71.htm
Anyway, according their site, the '70 color is 221 . . . different?
And FYI . . . green seems to be one of the most prolific colors applied to Porsches. WAAAAY more here . . .
http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...=catalog+green
See if your car's color is there. And if not? ---- add it?
Excellent! And, all things considered . . . a very lucky car. Love those tires, too. XWXs?
You have to show more pictures --- a lot of Albert blue fans, here
Welcome!
Thanks all for your comments. As said before I will post more fotos soon.
Hello LongRanger, I knew that green color was popular on these cars, but did not in such big number and diversity. Anyway I tried to find the exact color denomination (224) on websites for my car, but without success.
This cars fit XWXs indeed. When I bought it, it had really low miles old Cinturatos, but they were to old to be used...
Also, DavidR . . .
Be sure to show some pics of your interiors, as well
. . . your avatar . . .
No problem. Will do it soon...
Hi There,

Very nice, Laurens! Any pictures of the interior? What steering wheel are you using?
Thanks!
just spent the evening going through this entire thread. sheesh. :)
Hi there,
I'm new-ish to this forum, though I have been lurking for a while, taking it all in. I'm picking up my ride next week from LA, & driving to NYC before shipping her to the UK & giving her a makeover....
I'm looking forward to picking everyones brains with a few questions along the way :p
Jude- Welcome! Nice car.
Ask your questions. There is never a lack of opinion!
Haasman
Yeah Jude, nice car. Welcome to the forum. Show us more. :)
Thanks Jens,
The picture is from the original advert... I'll post more when I get my hands on her next week, before I drive to NYC....
She's currently with TLG having a host of jobs done,so hopefully my trip across America with be mechanically uneventful!!
Well Jude, you're in good hands with Tony and Marco. TLG is one of the best shops out there... anywhere! All the best to you on what sounds to be an epic American journey. Gawdspeed.
Welcome to the board Jude.... Your adventures have just begun........ ;)

Mar car was born in Stuttgart on this day in 1972. She's managed to survive in stellar condition over the past 40 years and will continue to do so over the next 40 (if I have anything to say about it).
Happy birthday!
Kent
Happy Birth Day ! i know this car personaly and pics do not do show, the real thing.
Thanks for the complement Santi!
Wonderful car Kent! Good to see that the US bumperettes have been removed. Fantastic Blue, too. Happy Birthday.
Kent's car is one of the most primo early 911s out there! HAPPY B-DAY!
I think this is a nice picture of my 67

It is Sand Beige. I think the car looks a bit lighter in person. Rigth next to the Mediterranean sea in Málaga Spain. You either love or hate this color I think.
After weeks of snow, rain and fog, I took the opportunity to have some late autumn fun south of Stuttgart.

Anatol,
Beautiful, simply outstanding !!
What a wonderful overall package.
By the way..............does Morrissey know about your steering wheel.
JZG
Love it Anatol! Very clean execution.
Love seeing the key fob in such a far away place...
Thanks for your kind comments, gentlemen!
John, I found the wheel in a milk bucket under a sales stand at a parts swap in Switzerland. Obviously nobody was interested in that old Momo Elite, so I had to look after it...
After several years of fiddling the car came out just like I always dreamed of. But I never wanted to have an old 911 that only looked nice. So I made sure it goes: 2.5l twin plug with lots of goodies and 260hp. I have to correct myself: it flies.
http://imageshack.us/a/img849/5227/mdscn1420.jpg
Now one of the only things left to do is have the black cooling fan swapped for something more period.
I love it Anatol........

Alex...cool color! What is it?
John
:D
Brilliant color Alex. Nice car too. ;)
that looks to be chartreuse green?
It is Chartreuse green - it was a toss up between golden green and chartreuse green. In the end chartreuse won out because its a bit brighter and I thought it would pop more up here in grey of the PNW....
Thanks for the kind words....
Best,
Alex
Anatol-
I love everything about your car; it is one of my favorite cars on the forum. Well done. The MoMo is perfect, it goes better than the Raid.

Doode, what were you thinking. Tasteless pos that it is. Ridiculous wheels, horrible stance, red decklid(?), and where's the trim?! WTF. I can hardly believe you would post a pitcha of that pathetic cah in public. Jayzus, it's just stoopid.

I know at some point I'll miss when it was like this. Right now I could give a sh!@ about the paint and what happens to it. Will be hard to feel that way after I've stripped it down, and redone it all.
Love what your do'in with this car Digital! Keep up the good work! :)
Damn that car looks awesome!!
DigK, that's a great photo. My 72 runs the same theme, here she is on her way into her winter dwelling.

I know exactly what you mean. The whole front of my white car is in white primer and has been for years now. I guess I care most about how it runs, drives, corners and stops. Paint just seems like a whole lotta work... and it doesn't make it any faster! Paint and stickers will though. I suppose I'll have to at some point.
(and thanks for the bigger pic)
Digital, is that deck lid aluminum??

.....if I were you I'd find a matching hood in red with a lot of patina.....give it quick splash with some holy water from the local drive thru church then drive the hell out of it!
.....you've got my blessing brother.....looks great!
Nice look......
Love the different contrasts in the picture! Really nice!
While we're at it-
I'll work on the red decklid club immediately.
Small write up in Total 911 this month..... No driving until spring comes around. That's a bummer, but the salty roads kill these cars.
Best thing I ever bought.

It's a full spec FIA Rally car with HTP(Historic Technical Passport, Homologation 3053), but it is not a real RS! I wouldn't throw a real one around like that! :) So it has an almost 3 litre engine with mechanical fuel injection, standard 915 box with short gearing, light build with plastic windows, no interior except cage and recaro seats, no heater and gfk hoods and bumpers(sub 1000kg), bilstein shocks, stiffer torsion and roll bars and 7+8x15 wheels, RS brakes with racing pads...
any video of it romping around?
Impressive wagon - very impressive skills.
+1 on any clips of some dancing.

That was quick :)
Very, very nice!
Really very nice! I am always amazed to see what a classic 911 can do on gravel!
Just last night I watched a youtube video of the Rallye Wien-Triest with Mr. Röhrl in a ST-replica and a 906 driven by a gentleman from Vorarlberg. Fantastic footage!
My Co-pilot was in that 906 and it's crazy fast, just not very safe(no cage!)! They even lost a door and continued!
I very much admire Mrs. Monego's courage to get into your car let alone into Mr. Zumtobel's 906! And above all being able to concentrate on the pace notes!
Hello all,

Great looking car with some awesome details!
Wow! Nice car. Love the old style number plate.
I think there is a typo in your SN#. 70S shouldnt have a 1 in the fourth position.
Ahh, that explains it. Lovely car!
Yea, almost there...72 t with a 2.8 based on a 3.0 turbo case, a 966 short stroke crank and mfi.

Pretty damned cool.
Good friend took this photo at Bowen's Island, SC.
One of the guys on the TYP 901 forum here in Australia posted a photo of his car in front of a new piece of "street art" commissioned by Porsche to cover the back of their building here in Melbourne.
I thoght the result was so good that I went down there today and took some photos of my car in fron of it.
Another poster put up a link to the making of this street art which is certainly worth looking at.
Great shot.
Just bought 911 mid-1968, Karmann. Has incorrect 16" Fuchs, modern stereo and needs new seats (either good original Comforts or repros from Vintage or BF Torino). Sports wheel now has black spokes. All else seems good!

I took that thing to work for giggles... it definitely is too low. It fits under the truck's door handles ;-)
Attachment 237207
I don't know if it's too low Greg. It looks pretty good to me.
looks sweet, though I bet those bump stops are taking a beating.
I don't know. The only issue is hitting bumps with the wheels sharply turned. I will get it higher, I like the look but it's a bit too low for my taste.
Here is my 1971 911 T sunroof coupe. 76k miles, original 6262 Light yellow, lived in Southern California all its life. I just completed a fresh engine build and started it for the first time last Saturday!! Attachment 238174Attachment 238175Attachment 238176
Very pretty light yellow T......
Thank you Chuck!! It is a beautiful color. It always reminds me of the 356 era "Champagne Yellow" color. I fell in love with that color watching Steve McQueen's girlfriend's 356 cabriolet, in Bullit.
Great color. Some time ago my friend Karlus suggested I paint my RatBastid ST Light Yellow and it stuck in my mind. Seeing your car looking so terrific, I just might!:)
Thanks Jens! I dont think you could go wrong with any color on your car....
The weather has finally been nice enough for me to wash the car and take some photos of my recently purchased 911. Here she is..........Attachment 238922Attachment 238923Attachment 238924
Good looking ride Alex. I really like the wheel and tire package.
Changing gears a bit. Here is my 82 911SC - my first 80's 911. These cars really are a great buy for the money right now. You can buy three good ones for the cost of a good 69-73 longhood. This one also has all the right mods too. Rebuild by Wayne Dempsey (this is the car he used for his "101 Projects" book), corner balanced, Bilstein sports, sportseats, SSI H/E and sport exhaust, etc... Nice manners around town, and a good kick under full throttle.
Cool car done right. Now backdate the hell out of it!!:D

Does Chris do commissioned art work for others also?
Vic

Chris originally started this project as part of DDK's ten year donation to our main charity, Macmillan Nurses, as proposed by our 'leader' Bootsy. The idea was to raise ten thousand pounds by the tenth anniversary of DDK. We have surpassed that mark ten months early and Chris's artwork was key in raising a good proportion of that money.
http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/vie...p?f=41&t=38997
I don't know if the book is closed on the artwork project because Chris was doing this voluntarily in his own time fitted around work. You could contact him to find out but he travels the world for his work and may not respond immediately.
They are fantastic posters. Go to page three and beyond on the above thread for examples of his fine work. I have one myself and it is great!
We may even raise double our target by the due date which would be for a fantastic cause.
