Made a quick search with the manufacturer name and found that Automobilia Ladenburg had a similar jacket in the spring 2019 auction (item 5066). They say it's an original race jacket and reserve price was at 1.990 Euro; anyway didn't sell in auction. So it's a mistery....but now I think I'll hang mine in a better area of the garage.....:D

Agree, I found it too. That auction house sometimes sells things sourced from folks with factory links. Although in this case they don't say that or give information to substantiate or clarify the "originals" claim in listing or the punchy reserve price that suggests it is somehow special.
’ll keep mine in a cover until things more clear about that and or what company hunziger was referring to as the race team only British manufacturer. The repro seem to have hunziger brand but not looked at them closely when they came out because I’m not a fan of repro or homage or replica stuff; defeats the purpose of hobby being classic cars.... rather like like faux replica antiques just don’t light my fire either. Each to their own of course. No harm in it if they are not passed off as real deal. I’ve an acquaintance who gets excited about Volkecting and wearing fake watches...don’t get it myself but he's a nice chap and enjoys it.
By the way I had jacket like the bright red one under pendant with that same colour crest as yours but gave it to a friend... but still kept my other two of that same bright red jacket. They have the crest patches with grey at top as shown in 73 accessories catalogue. I assume grey behind Porsche / Stuttgart letters on crest like on your work coat is earlier design of the factory cloth crest.

Back to patches. Advertising articles brochures help: November 1977 still shows the old type, August 1978 the new one.

I've had people ask me what's the rarest thing I have. I never knew. Now I do. Ironically this, nothing to do with a 911 -

Interesting sale, prices not that high, but wonder if the really rare pieces won’t be in their Part II sale:
