"Versuch Fahrwerk; Leitung Rallye Abteilung; Entwicklung Sportversionen 911 und 914/6" -" R&D chassis, Head of the rally department; Development of sports versions 911 and 914/6"
1960 - 1973 he did quite some road reliability motorcycle races, with Heinkel and Yamaha road racing motorcycle, Kreidler,
co-driver rallying, Volvo and BMW .
He participated the 5. - 6. September 1970 at the Int. ADAC 500-Kilometer-Rennen Eifelpokal-Rennen at Nurburgring, where he finished 3rd with his Kreidler 50ccm motorcycle.
In 1973 he participated with his motorcycle at the GP of Germany Deutschland. He finished 7.th in the class. 50 ccm and had a season finish at place 16. (4 Punkte)
He studied at Technische Hochschule Stuttgart (today University Stuttgart)
and had a degree in engineering in 1967 (mechanical engineering, specializing in automotive technology)
From 1967 - 1969 he had been at Audi and was involved with the trial of pre-development chassis
He later moved on to BMW
1973 - 1979 BMW Motorsport GmbH Munich: Development, preparation and racing vehicle 2002 rally
1974 F2 engine with throttle valve injection, dry sump, rack and pinion steering, 15 inch wheels and disc brake system also at the rear
1975 3.0 CSL support and racing in the IMSA series, USA
1976 3.0 CSL naturally aspirated and turbo engine for the WM brands
1977 320 gr. 5 Development and racing, Junior Team DRM with Manfred Winkelhock, Marc Surer and Eddy Cheever
1978 320 gr. 5 Turbo development and racing at the Brands World Cup in collaboration with McLaren Engines Detroit. Start of group 4 development of the M1 based on the prototype P4. The focus was on weight reduction, braking systems with extensive use of components from the 3.0 CSL, engine and transmission cooling, aerodynamic adaptation to racing operations, introduction of the rear wing test drives in Zeltweg, Nürburgring and Paul Ricard
