I posted a couple pictures a while ago, but back then my '66 was a sedentary object. Today it hit the road for the 1st time in 6 years and was reborn into a car!

John, here's an interior shot. It looks kind of silly with the 5-point harnesses and stock seats, but my GTS Nurburgring seats, which shipped from Texas yesterday, will tie it all together.

I'll think about starting a thread...it'd be a long one. I posted threads of the major milestones (getting the car for $6000, finding the hole in the #5 piston, putting the new engine in...etc) over on Pelican.

Also compliments on the 66. I like the deco free exterior look. Curious to know why the engine bay metal where the stickers go is black instead of white? What was the car's original color? I also love the MSD CD Box. I had one in my 67 911 S spec motor and it made a huge difference. The head design on the early 2.0 motors was pretty bad. After dropping the msd in my car, no more fouled plugs - ever again!
gruen911, Light Ivory is the origianal color. The PO painted the rear panel black, and the front one too. At least they carefully masked off the decals. I think it looks okay. Here's the front, and yes, the tank should be black, but I like the gray gas tank look.Quote:
