Nice Aaron, what color is that?
The early 911 is a '70t, just recently purchased, will slowly take her apart this summer, as I am planning to return it to original color of Irish Green, with ST front and rear flares. Motor is not original, and may put it up for sale later in the year as I plan to have a real nice engine built by one of the known builders.
She's more of a 'banana yellow' and certainly seems to attract the local insect population.Quote:

Pleased to say that I got my first black/silver registration plate yesterday - these plates can only be used in the UK by vehicles manufactured before 1972 and attract a 'zero rate' road tax which is probably the only tax break I'll ever get. :)

Thanks.....it's called Bitter Chocolate.....I'd call it more of a milk chocolate......it's a couple shades darker than Sepia.Quote:

That is one of the best pictures of a 911 targa, the one with the door opeon and the roof off, makes me want one. Beautiful!
I think most of you have seen my lightweight 69, but I don't think that I have posted any photos of my first car. I got her 2-1/2 years ago from the third owner (he had it for 23 years) from Three Rivers, CA. He bought it from a high school friend who owned it while in high school in the early/mid 70's (he had it 10 years). It spent most of its time in SoCal until just recently I have spoken with both owners about the car's history, which has been really nice to determine its originality and condition. It had one repaint back in the late 70's and it still wears that paint. It had an engine rebuild at 100k miles with E "parts." I inquired about that and he said he did it just because he heard that was when you overhaul 911 engines. OhhhKaaay... Hhmmm, I'll spend 10 grand (or whatever it cost back then) just because.
Anyway, here she is in all her patina'd glory - 185k miles, but in fantastic original shape and mechanically really good since I have gone through a lot of things in the past couple years. Sorry for the bad interior pic and the wires hanging - I was doing some radio work. I also have the original wheel out for recovering.
Salvage Yard rescue that was almost parted out.
