I am getting someone german to decifer the kardex card in some detail at the moment but it appears to read that the car was delivered to australia to a Mrs Maria Kemp of Sydney. Parts of the card are hand written and some typed with a typewriter and some parts stamped. I am still getting to the bottom of the details on it.
It is interesting finding out its origins

Also - Dennis - Can I join the 901 registry over the internet and pay over the internet also? I haven't been able to work out how to do it on the website.

Sorry I can't help with the recent history. Maybe one of the others on TYP 901 might be able to help though.
In relation to joining I think you have to mail the form in but you can pay via Paypal by clicking on the Paypal symbol on the home page, or click on the membership link on the home page.
I don't think I've posted a picture yet. This is my 1973 S Targa. My father bought it new, and I bought it from him a couple of years ago. It has about 43,000 miles on it. It's almost all original, except for a few trim things (hood badge and targa top vinyl) and some maintenance (bare metal respray, new muffler, tires, etc). It still has the original tool kit, spare tire, brake pads, clutch, etc. I've got documentation going back to the original window sticker. It still runs like new!
This was a long exposure, and I walked through the frame with a flashlight to create the light trail. It took quite a while to get a light trail I liked.

I was just sitting here taking in the photo and the car...reading about the technique...looking back at the great saturation despite the long exposure...nice white balance...figuring how I would duplicate the trail in Photoshop...looking at the front to side ratio...centered compostion...trying to figure out the lens...height position of camera...wanting to rubber stamp the rectangle in the foreground...then I scrolled down to read your comment.

I am under the gun to get her track worthy, so even though I have bumper and side deco trim, I won't put all that on the car until next month (after the track day). It's currently sporting Yoko 048 (extremely sticky tires) on Superlite 7+8 wheels - I like how they fill the fenders in the rear - front needs to be lowered again after the weight loss...
