Cool, Chuck. It also has reinforced side jack points.
Why is the black tape holding one of the wiper arms? ...OK, I'll bite...maybe the viperarm "hub" is worn and they didn't want it to suddenly spring into action and "snag" both of them half way...(uhm, I can relate)...Early 4-screw car...with massaged flares...nice...wonder what those spinky leads (by the "Blitz-dekal") are for?...
Sepp Greger's car is just right...I like the "fat" rear steelies...no mirror..."what's behind me, does not concern me"...He looks happy!......
.....blitz decal to show whereto pull the wire, which is also fixed with tape-> "home made" electric cut off...

Brand new RS that won national production championship on 73 had cutoff through horn grill and was driven to and from circuit. The true spirit of a road racer. A neat more reversible solution for a car that is genuine road and race car than often seen with switches in scuttle — unless have a big front impact on that front corner perhaps then not such an ideal spot? Appears to be a glint of light reflecting at edges of grill — possibly they utilised a ttg silver grill with its opening to achieve this whereas the other side is clearly still the model 73 black plastic.

Preparation was done by the National Porsche importer who provided two RS to easily win the championship. Think the same was done for the first series-500 M472 Touring that was initially used for the early rounds before the M471 Sport (plus a spare) from second-series arrived for use. I’m having lunch with the championship winning driver at my club soon, I’ll see if he remembers the specifics that quite small detail.

The late great “Quick Vic” overtaking and having contact with Roger Clark’s Cortina GT at Lydden Hill Rallycross circuit in Kent (east of London) February 1967. In the U.K. in 60s and 70s we were treated to rally cross being shown among the interesting variety on our Saturday afternoon Sport TV programmes. The first ever rally cross event was shown live on one of the few TV channels broadcasting in U.K. back then.
GVB911D is a well known 911 used hard in hands of local London boy Vic Elford and later Nick Faure.

John Greasley’s Porsche easily winning at Lydden Hill; slightly later in 1980. Typical of the live rally cross coverage grew-up watching on between horse racing, wresting, football results etc on Saturdays — icing on the cake is commentary by a much missed legend!
