Phil,
Looks great!
Phil:
What a neat picture. This could have been used by the factory to sell a few of them back in the day.
My 73T targa
Following Peter's request, I am including a picture and a few comments of my car.
Car is a 1967 S, #306998 S, European version. I don't know how or when it went to the US, but it does have a pink slip title from California dated 1988. My friend bought it from that person in 2002 and imported it into Mexico.
At some point of it's life, apparently while in California, the car was altered to get the 930 fat look. It was bought that way by my friend, who imported it into Mexico. I bought it a few months ago with the advise and help of another very good friend of mine, also a member of the forum. I became a paying member of the 911S registry and my intention is to get it completely back to what it could have been in 1967. Note that I said, "could have been" and not "the way it was". That is because I always like to do my cars as correctly as possible, but the way I would probably have bought them if I were back to the year their were built. That allows me to play with original colors and original options.
My car was widened and lots of parts changed, but the basics is still there, including the 911S shell, and 911S engine, both numbered very closely appart. I bought a 1965 912 as a parts car and have already been changing lots of parts, including several interior components, hood, front fenders and a few trim pieces and details. My bodyman will have to change rear fenders and a few other things.
As for options, I do have the gas heater, and the car originally had the rear wiper assembly, which was removed at some point. I already purchased one, together with the correct rear lid. I am also looking into purchasing a sunroof.
I am enclosing a couple ofs pic of how I got it, though the car was posted before at the forum by my friend, ( http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ad.php?t=11828 ) who was considering buying it at that time, but then, graciously allowed me, or I could say, pushed me, into buying it. I am very enthusiastic about the project but will surely be needing tons of help. I am also including a picture of how it is looking today, after removal of all the incorrect parts, and just presenting some of the newer ones I will be using.
It will take some time, but with the help and advise of the board members, I am sure it will turn out to be a very decent looking 1967S.
Car is in Queretaro, Mexico.
Thanks,
Victor
Can't wait to see the outcome!
