It is a nice solid car with great gaps and the both doors make the unique Porsche sound when closed. Essentially rust free car with original floors. No rust in the front suspension pan. The dash is original crack free and very nice. This is the optional premium dash which is textured. Transmission shifts great and nice for city and everyday use! Original MFI engine pulls very strong but runs rich and can see black smoke under throttle. All outer rubber trim and weather stripping newer long with Porsche lens and H4 lights. I also have records for the car and one for 5k miles ago for a rebuilt that cost close to 10k which explains the power it has no white smoke.

If you read down the ad, and check out the pics, you will see that the complete sporto drive train including original 2.0 engine is included with the car. It wasn't running when the car was found so we put in a fresh 915 and 2.7 mfi engine we just finished for another project...and, voila: the car is reborn as a sleeper hot rod.Quote:

This checks off a lot of boxes for me, but I have seen warnings about this seller and the 67S he has on eBay right now is clearly not what it is supposed to be. But this one may be better -- it has the COA in the ad and original miles.

In todays' ( 05/24/2012) market, that targa is grossly underpriced ! Buy it before I do !!
You are correct to be wary of this seller. I think if you do a search for this dealer (Daniel Schmitt) on Pelican you will get mainly negative comments. If you are really wanting to dig on this one I would recommend really arming yourself with lots of knowledge, then start with a phone call and go from there. I would also highly suggest looking at in person and hiring an independent inspection. Since this is your first Early 911, go slowly in the searching and evaluation period. Some us (me included) have learned this leason the hard way.:)
I don't see any photos of the engine serial number. You must see this and confirm it is the original Factory stamped case. If not run away. I see it missing the MFI, which is a big nock IMHO. Was the engine rebuilt in the restoration? Probably not.
I would want to know who and what was done in the 'restoration' of this car. Photos and records. Speaking of records, are there any to confirm the mileage claim? For clarification the color is no Viper Green as that is '73 color, it was originally Kelly or Emerald Green. It was born with leather, which is interior code 16. The A/C is not listed on the CoA, but of course is in the car and hooked up apparently. The windshield washer bottle should be located in the upper driver's side area of the trunk. I see the mounting tab is there so the A/C should probably be there.
Well that should get the ball rolling. There are other details, like incorrect carpet, wheel finish, fog lights, steering wheel (not a raised hub), radio, etc.
