Gee guys,
Thank you all very much for your replies and input, invaluable!
I just learnt more about rear wipers than I had in the last 15 years :)
Yes Gordon I do have that switch ,always wondered what it was .
I will track the wiring down and see what ends etc .
I will research new parts, I just thought from earlier comments by others they were unobtainium, but everything has it's price I guess.
But meanwhile techweenie what did you have in mind for your assembly?
Thank you all once again,
regards
Bruce

Bruce, I think my assembly is worth $300. The motor is a standard item, so really all that's special is the cross brace, levers, pushrod and arm pivot. But I've seen people ask crazy money for complete units. I know shipping to Tasmania is likely crazy expensive...
Because the motor on mine is frozen, it might make sense to ship it to Don West in Oregon to get it rebuilt.

I realized I also had a later wiper for Turbo, and the motor is identical. So I can take the good motor off the Turbo mechanism and replace the rusted lump on the vintage mechanism. That would be $400 and get you a complete setup with wiring harness.

sold my early wiper mechanism less motor. Later unit still available as shown above. $250
