Ed, I have used Barry in the past quite a bit. He is good, but slower than slow.
Yes,,,best plan way ahead ;)
After a couple of rebuilds and continued issues I went with a crank fire setup from Richard Clewett. Obviously not what you should do but it does work 100% better, no drift, perfect timing 100% of the time.
A local British shop has a working Sun machine which is a dinosaur. They lean toward the 123 (https://123ignition.com) in restorations these days as worn out wins no awards. The owner is an ex-tool and die maker with a machine shop and he's quite capable of a rebuild but adding reliability is always a good thing with a British car. ;)
I used Barry (https://distributorlab.com/) for rebuilding my very worn out distributor for my 73.5 CIS, he called the shop and told them it was worn out 100k ago!
he also bult a custom curve for it, now pulls smoothly to the red line, no more flat spot. very pleased with the results!
Rick have you contacted Bruce Smith ? He does amazing job on distributors and fuel pumps
