Gregg actually never titled a car in his name I was told. The car in question was in fact used by Peter. It is said to be in very good condition having been painted at one point but never really restored completely. A neat car that I would love to own but the price just does not add up to me. Would still love to own it.

Tom's right about the orange sporto. That car was driven on Dream Car Garage in an episode where Brumos provided a couple of cars and that's the story that they told. And the that RSR was at Amelia Sunday, check the pics on the other thread.
Also, someday there will be some similar questions about Hurley Haywood's personal 997. Well, when the hydraulic wing gave up on the Carrera GT during his demo runs for us on Friday, he emptied his stuff out his black, tiptronic, woodgrained interior, 997S to give the remainder of the group their rides. Not sure if that will raise the value of that car, but at least an eye witness account will be on record in the Early S archives. ;) :D

The size and contour look bigger then Carrera flares to me ... and if I'm right on the wheel size, you can't fit a 15x9 with a standard Carrera/SC flare.... 16x9's work, but 15x9's don't.

Regarding Peter Gregg and the Sportomatic 1973 S:
During the recent Rennsport Reunion in Daytona I had the 73 S with sportomatic in the gang of 40 line up of '40 years of 911'. The orange 74 next to me belonged to Bob Snodgrass. During a couple of conversations, Bob related how Peter Gregg had mentioned many times how much he liked driving the sporto S. Said that he preferred the sportomatic over the five speed version.
Now all I have to do is figure out a way to find out if my 73 S sporto came through Brumos and was one of the Peter Gregg sporto S's. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have the original owner's maroon maintenance log that came with car so I suspect not.

Chuck, you can fit a 9x15 under a rear SC/RS flare, but only with 225 tires max (this was what my white 911 had at Cambria 2002).Quote:

For what its worth, I know Klubsport fairly well. Phil Bagley and Bruce Elsworth are the owners and their shop is top end. They are suppossed to be at Sebring with a few of their cars this weekend if anyone is in South Florida and wants to meet them. Phil is the sales guy. Bruce is the mechanic - both are very good at what they do.
They build great race cars for wealthy clients in the Palm Beach area and service some of the best early Porsches in South Florida. They are not know for being cheap or selling garbage. I don 't know anything about the Peter Gregg car or what its market value is, but I did see it in their shop last week last week when I was visiting. If they say its for real, chances are it is.
PS - They are not paying me for this plug. Hell, they're not even giving me a discount on anything -they charged me $180 for my Momo Prototipo 350mm back in December. Was that a deal?
Looks like this car is now for sale by the same person selling the Gulf Blue RS Lightweight #269. The asking price for the Gregg car is now $109K on the PCA website.

Those look like ST flares to me, I had a 72 with those and a set of 15 x 9's on the back, great car.
