Is there a "waiting period" that you would like to prescribe between buying a car/parts and selling same?
I just want to know, as I think I want to start date stamping my cars/parts so that I know when its "ok" to sell without being "outed" on the board...
Or do you have a rolling scale you want to prescribe between date of purchase and resale? Perhaps a % per week, month, year?
Or maybe if the person is a registry member they can log their purchases here, and then when they go to sell they can give a % to the SRegistry.... Would they get to deduct for improvements, and how do we value the improvements if they don't have receipts????
Just curious... as I know want to have the groundrules before I list parts/cars.
I think I paid $7,200 for my Gulf Blue 67S, and I think there may be some up side when I go to sell. I wonder if someone will find that autotrader ad?
regards,
Eric
No moral judgment stated or implied in my previous post "outing" the car, just an observation as to where it started, perhaps along with some mild amusement. I am not opposed to making money on the sale of a car and I might even be a bit envious that I missed this one by only a couple of days at most, as I called on it and the CL seller said he was waiting for payment and a transporter to come pick up the car. I am constantly searching for early cars, and I am often surprised at things that I have seen online or in person that I pass on, only to have them turn up here or on some of the other enthusiast sites with significantly higher asking prices. If I had bought it though, I might let the body cool a bit before reposting the car and offering it to the enthusiast community while the old ad was still active.
I don't care how much money this guy can make flipping a car, his business, and his good fortune to be able to.
But to make it seem like he's doing ALL OF US SOME GREAT, GOOD DEED by offering it here for a $11K profit, before it 'goes public' (or whatever) is ludicrous.
