My experience with telling (Very politely )the manager of the Goodyear store that my freshly restored Fuchs are very expensive, and that I did not want them scratched. I was told that he could not guarantee they would not be damaged, and encouraged to take my business someplace else. I was pretty shocked at the time, but at least they know their limitations. I took them to the Porsche dealer, no problem.
super9064: now that's a great thought!! How much did the dealership charged? I had the same happen to me w/
BigO but I just asked if he could put his best tire guy to work on my 1 'loose' wheel that needed a tire change.
I was right there w/ it while it was being worked on and was assured he could do w/o scathe. voila'....:)
When I had my Fuchs refinished by Harvey, I had him put the tires of my choice on the rims. This seemed like the safest way to avoid any damage to my rims.
We (this board) need to create a sticky with geographic recommendations for tire dealers who Porsche/Deep six savvy.
Just a random thought...
