I was really surprised at this one?? Seemed like a solid car with Rally kit and it only got up to 100k???
doesn't the Kardex have a typo on the gearbox number (a rare thing) shows 164926 but should be 104926? There were no 16xxxx 901/02 gearboxes as far as i am aware A car with a VIN not much earlier has gearbox 104875 so I suspect the rest of the numbers apart from the 6 are correct
A 2 Litre LWB S is a unique beast, but this appears to be an optimistic estimate . . .

To many Porsche enthusiasts, the 1969 Porsche 911S is the ultimate prize of the first-generation long-hood cars. In 1969, Porsche made major engineering improvement strides to the entire 911 model range—T, E and S—by increasing the wheelbase 2.2 inches and thereby reducing the rear-end overhang, flaring the rear wheel arches to accept wider contact-patch wheels/tires, adopting fuel injection for increased performance and emission-control compliance, and reverting to a magnesium engine case to reduce rear-end weight. These changes were of major benefit to the high-performance 911S. Equipped with Bosch Fuel Injection, larger intake and exhaust valves, and a higher-lift, higher-duration camshaft, the 911S now produced 190 HP—an amazing 1.56 HP per cubic inch of displacement. The 911 S also featured 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes with vented rotors and a silky smooth 5-speed manual gearbox. It was the ultimate 911 of its time and is still lusted after to this day by the most ardent Porsche loyalists. The featured 1969 911S has undergone a cosmetic and mechanical restoration performed by Dallas Euro Cars. Finished in the factory-correct color of Polo Red, the exterior presentation is further accented by the 911S appearance group trim package—consisting of aluminum rocker-panel covers and wider deco trim on the front and rear bumpers—a pair of 3-inch driving lights mounted to the chrome horn grilles, chrome front-bumper guards and a complete set of polished 6-inch-wide Fuchs alloy wheels mounted on radial tires. The black leather interior and the square-weave dashboard trim are signature items on this 911S. The car is additionally equipped with a factory-installed electric sunroof and a Blaupunkt radio. This 911S comes complete with the original tool roll, spare tire and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Comfort Headrest option? LOL
BTW, it also sports a post '74 hood crest. :o
A '69S is a very interesting car with more power per liter than other contemporary 911 offerings. A sort of detuned 906.
One of our members has a beautiful original '69S I looked at in person. It is an original paint fully documented all the way back to the factory car! The red car isn't close.
Eric: Didn't you have a red '69S years back? I recall that was a nice one needing very little to be a real stand up car.
Hi Doug
How many lots ??
Cheers
Garry
Maybe this particular example should be nicknamed Frankenstein :)

BaT Description:
This 1968 Porsche 911L has been with the seller for 29 years and features a modified 2.2-liter flat-six, which is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A repaint in Signal Red was carried out in 2015, and the car also features a black vinyl interior along with 15″ Fuchs wheels and an electric sliding sunroof. The 911L was a one-year only model for the US, and this example received 85 out of 90 possible points at the 2017 Concourse D’Elegance in Dayton, Ohio as discussed below. Recent service included a new front main seal and battery, as well as the suspension work described below. This SWB 911 is now being offered with service records since 1980, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
In 2015, the car was repainted in Signal Red using DuPont ChromaBase and DuPont ChromaClear. Due to corrosion, sheet metal was replaced in the front floor pan, inner and outer rockers, rear torsion tube, doors, and fenders. In 2017, the car received 85 out of 90 points at the Dayton Concourse D’Elegance. Judging deductions were for the aftermarket steering wheel, dual-tip exhaust, later-style air conditioning compressor, and a spare Fuchs wheel with black painted spokes.
Koni shocks are paired to front torsion bars, which the seller adjusted to lower than stock. 15×5.5″ Fuchs wheels are fitted with Dunlop Signature II tires and new tubes purchased in January of 2018. The seller modified a full size muffler with a right side exhaust tip to match the stock left side, and the original exhaust air-injection pump has been removed. The electric sunroof was transplanted from a wrecked car by cutting off the original roof and welding the replacement item at the base of the posts. The sunroof was wired in and drain lines were added. In 2015, the sunroof seals were replaced during the 2015 repaint.
A previous owner replaced the center nose section of the car between the headlights and back to the fuel tank with parts from a 1966 911 (VIN #304694). The rest of chassis is the 1968 911L VIN 11805130, as stamped inside the dashboard. A Momo competition wheel has been fitted and the oil level sender was replaced. 58,497 are shown on the odometer, though true mileage is unknown. The odometer does work, but the seller reports that the vehicle’s title notes a mileage discrepancy. The seller has added 11,034 miles in 29 years of ownership. The interior is finished in vinyl with a leather-covered dashboard and can be seen in more details in the video above. In 2016, the instruments were removed to replace the light bulbs and repaint the dash.
In 2000, the type 901/14 flat-six was rebuilt with new bearings, gaskets, rod bolts, and oil-pressure-fed chain tensioners. The displacement was enlarged to 2.2 liters with cylinders and pistons from a 911E. The heads came from the 2.4-liter 911T. Other modifications include MSD 6A ignition, JWE rebuilt distributor, Weber 40 IDA 3C carburetors, and Watershield air cleaners. Power is sent to the rear wheels by a 5-speed manual transaxle. Compression tests from 2017 are documented in the gallery below and show readings of 130-137 psi across all 6 cylinders.
Over several years, the seller acquired the air conditioning system in pieces and installed it. This required cutting the front pan for the condenser, fitting the evaporator in the compartment behind the spare tire, running hoses, and wiring the system. The seller used a later rotary Sanden compressor which has recently been recharged with R134.
In 2017, the front main seal, intermediate shaft cover gasket, and camshaft bearing seals were replaced as shown by the invoices. 930 lower valve covers and the stock upper valve covers were machined flat and the gaskets replaced. A new battery was installed, and both of the carburetors were cleaned, adjusted, and synchronized. Suspension work in 2018 included adjustment of the front wheel bearings and new front and rear sway bar bushings.
