Well, 12 years after joining we finally have a driving 911, a 1973 E. Tangerine/Brown with A.C., sunroof, and 5-speed. Drove it home 100 miles after paint polishing and film for the front. Wow, after 28 years of 356 driving, this is a really nice evolutionary step.
BIG congrats Michael !!!!
Hope to hear much more...
Cheers,
cm
That looks awesome Michael - congratulations!

Very nice! Welcome!!
Static rides -> lock down, stay safe.
Removed the car covers on both to let them brief a bit :D and see the (artificial) light.
I remember the last drive with SHE (the 911L, on the right for those who are unfamiliar with 911s here :p) few weeks ago. I told myself how beautiful it is to be behind that steering wheel. It is a true privilege. It took so long to find her, I drove so many other sports cars - she is the only one for sure. I can sens all the people that sat in or drove her; I can feel all the pain, scratches and dents that she went through, I can get all the joy when she is out at my mechanic and when I go "pedal to the metal".
Folks those cars are so incredible, mine is. Sure there is NO substitute.
The Spyder is a great car too: light, agile, with tons of torque, phenomenal grip and brakes. Engagement in driving is of a different level than SHE.
Ruby, the race 911E 1973 is now departing the USA on a comfy container, on her way to her new home. Those 2 guys are looking forward to it.
Take care, stay home, please. #FYC19
BTW : I just bought a Westy T2, which will go under important restoration.

My trusty '73S. Still trucking.
Keep on truckin’, Richard!
I've been meaning to post some pic of my 67S for some time now but now that we're in lockdown no more excuses. An American spec LHD car from Texas owned by a Mr Paul Vollmar who owned the car from '78 to '99 and used it in autocross. It was originally special colour silver but was then painted black, then white then in the early '00's painted in what is a Brumos tribute. Sold then to the UK, where I bought the car and brought it back to life. Original matching engine is waiting a rebuild and also has orignal transmission. All panels except for drivers door are original to the car. I hope you like it...

Welcome, and good look'n car maddox...
Let's see and hear more about it....
Good morning Chuck / others. It is a gloomy and yucky day here on Long Island, but the sun in shining in the garage. As mentioned, this car belonged to a member of the Registry who loved and cared for the car for years. Lucky for me it was taken care of well.
A driver, not a show car with a rich history. In doing the research on the car, I have found the original owner (80 years old now), and luckily the original engine (I just need help tracking down the new owner of the car): Car is here. Request for help is here.
Since purchase I have given the original seats a deep clean, and re-installed. I am now working on the hand throttle and other small items. Here is just after I finished the seats and re-installed:

Hi all, bit of a project ahead of me here. ‘69 rhd 911S, last on the road in ‘86, been in a barn since not long after then I think. I took this pic after spending 3 months pulling parts to be able to get to it. It was a busy year! :)
Bahama yellow, I’ve got a receipt for the SC arches going on in ‘86, and it had short nose front fenders, but I don’t think that stuff was ever finished. Surprisingly solid with original floors, sills, etc, but it has had a front pan at some point in its life. Cage is just a 4 point bolt in, I’ve no idea when that was installed, but it was a long long time ago!
Hopefully, but it’s a while off that yet! Here’s my Bahama late ‘65 build it’ll be sat next to when it’s finished.

I'll have a full update + lots more photos after the weekend is over, suffice to say a 2.5L twin plug with straight pipes ain't too bad :)
So apparently there are few people on the board - and also over on DDK - questioning whether I am a genuine enthusiast and owner, or just a timewaster / parts flipper and I thought I'd better post a few pictures of my cars - neither of which are in the UK yet - in order to demonstrate my credentials.
The '72T is still in a container aboard NYK Romulus and is docked at Halifax, Nova Scotia at the moment with an estimated date of arrival in Southampton of November 26th but I won't be surprised if that slips further (it was originally supposed to be here on November 11th):

I have bought a complete but dismantled 2.4S engine from 210bhp, 2 sets of Scheel GT sliders from recarno, Marchal Ampliluxes from a friend of Billy Bean's, harnesses and fire extinguisher from stretch and reserved a pair of Recaro 13.28.00s from dizzycap on DDK, plus made a load of purchases via eBay, including restored front brake calipers, SB19/20/21 headlight housings & lenses, 380mm wheel (being recovered by jtparr on DDK at the moment) and so on. I'm also about to go and pick up a standard/standard crankshaft and a mag small fan housing and strap this week. I've also been regularly in communication with HughH and others about '72 S/Ts generally and the GeLo Racing Team S/T in particular.
The '72 S is finally with Dr.K's mechanic now, having had to wait for 2 months for new CN36's to arrive, so he told me yesterday, is having a full service, new shocks, new tires, new exhaust, MFI redone and all door and window rubber seals replaced prior to a full road test and any other identified issues sorted prior to it being shipped to me in the New Year.

Hi Lars,
No, the next iteration is quite different. Stay tuned…
I’m back as an active member after about a 15yr hiatus raising kids. For those that might remember me, I spent 3 yrs restoring a ‘73S coupe (#1100) which was eventually sold to pay for the 4th kids bedroom addition. I’ve been looking again for the last year and was lucky enough to come across this RGruppe car which I was able to buy before it hit the market. Enjoy the pics and the Excellence article (in my footer below) for details on the build. If anyone from the Santa Cruz area, or LA where the car has been the last 3yrs (Riverside I think), knows Mr. Toriani’s widow I’d love to get more history on the man who came up with this car. All I know is from the 2016 Excellence article.
Car will now split time between Woodside CA and Incline Village NV. Hope to see you all out there.

Stripping and wheels, I know, I know, the purists are choking.
I think it looks great, besides that there’s nothing there that can’t easily be returned to stock.
Kent, not a bad look. I want to see those stripes go all the way to the front. Minilites always look good to my eye, I would want them to be a dark metallic gray. Great maroon paint, too!

GREAT first post Coyft !!! ..... Welcome...
Well I've had this old girl for 23 years, not for sale goes to my grandson. She has 239,000 miles on the aubergine, original color, chassis. I originally started by removing weight, now 2210 with 1/2 tank. All the suspension has been upgraded even aluminum trailing arms. I worked with Mike Bruns in Florida, twin plugs and Weber's. After two days on the engine dyno, 245hp. I didn't care for the Fuchs, looks like everyone else and I grew up on road racing when Mini lights were king so these are Australian super lites. Excellent wheels as I have run track days for 10+ years both on the east coast and the west coast.
Again I'm not a purist so I like a little personality. I looked at www.flickr.com/groups/vintage911racecars for a long time before I came up with this stripping. This old girl is unique and a little sleeper with 9:1 power to weight.
Got the local Woodside CA AirCooledAmigos out in force this last Sunday morning. Results were stupendous. Skyline, down and back up Highway 9, lots of vistas and Redwoods.

Just add this tangerine '67 to my collection. The car has quite a nice history. It was delivered new in August 1967 to the first owner in California. The second owner (which is a ESR member and maybe recognize the car) restored the car to concours condition to win its class at the 2014 Pebble Beach Event. The car was bought from a gentleman from UK in 2015 and was now sold to me to Germany :)
The car came with steelies, but I already swaped to 6/7R Fuchs and I also lowered the car a bit. I now will get rid of the bumper horns and the fog lights and than it is ready to go.
It was always one of my dreams to own a car the same age like me. Between my birthday in July and the production date of the car in August are only two weeks. I think thats pretty close :)
I’ve owned this for a couple of years and absolutely love it. So much so that the more modern, faster cars hardly get a look in these days. I love the way it rides and it’s plenty fast enough for the country lanes near where I live.
