Yesterday I took the car for a long drive to see one of the best body men in the business. John Esposito’s in North Hollywood.
It was a 2 hour drive each way and the car ran great. John is very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of Porsche paint and body. His shop was full of the best 911s that one could imagine. He also has a 1 year waiting list and has over 40 cars in various states of repair. It was a beautiful sight to see. John is a great teacher and loves to share knowledge. Although we had never met before, he went out of his way to show me everything and answer any question I had.

But despite the fact that 505 was going faster it seems the competition got faster in the offseason as well. The top qualifying time in the GT3 class was 1:22 ... 1:22!!!! Average lap times during the race were in the 1:24s for the race leaders ... I couldn't manage better than a 1:30 average at race pace (except the 1:29 flyer). I ended up 4th or 5th in class during Saturday's races, but I pulled a rabbit out of my hat and chalked up a 3rd in today's race. Points is points.

. . . grabbed some lunch = #2, no cheese, raw onions + root beer. Place 's packed, too = as close as I got . . . aka Ding-free zone
