That is a great picture, also shows the cloth bound carpet like my car has, which I think is kind of a 356 era hold over before they went to vinyl trim on the carpet. I always wonder what the padding is? Obviously some kind of organic material with tar in it...coconut fiber? The stuff does a good job of holding water in cars with bad window seals and contributed to a lot of cars floor boards rusting out. Has anyone reproduced that material?

Just checked my 300700 project regarding the floor snaps. I did not notice them before and did not know of them until EAC showed it here.
Well apparently the previous owner cut these out in his &^%$(*) project in the seventies.......this is why a barn find is better than a garage find......glad he did not finish the car completely if you know what I mean. Anyway, it stood for 40 years before I bought it and at least I know now 100% sure that the floor is original, some more work to do though.

2 more changes for the group:
- interior light lenses did have the 'Hella' script, but did not have 'made in Germany' script in the beginning. When did this change?
- engines did not have cast dates in the beginning. Later engines had a cast date on the back end of each case half, just under the fan house (year in the middle and number of dots around it indicating the month). See picture. When did this change?
