Auction Description:
- Supplied new in Germany in 1970 by Porsche main dealer Gottfried Schultz
- Finished in the rare colour of Weissgrau a very period shade of grey-white
- Optioned when new with electric tinted windows and limited slip differential
- Staying in Germany until the 1990s, the car was then restored by a Dutch collector
- Imported into the UK in 2005 and subsequently sold by Silverstone Auctions in 2015
- The buyer, a significant collector, is presenting the car freshly serviced and MOT'd
- The odometer reading is some 31,026km (atoc) and the history file is a delight.
Finished in the rarest and very period colour of Grey White (Weissgrau) with a black interior, this beautiful 911 2.2S has been restored to a very high standard. It was originally supplied new in Germany by Porsche dealer, Gottfried Schultz, where it remained until the 1990s when it was purchased by a Dutch collector. The restoration, at some stage, included the replacement of the engine case of the correct type 911/02, signifying a 1970/71 2.2S. It's also stamped ‘AT' which indicates it is a factory replacement and bears the engine no. 6302110 which is confirmed as the original matching engine number. The factory also confirms that it had the following options; limited-slip differential, electric windows and tinted glass. It was imported into the UK in 2005, registered on the 14/06/2005 and was sold to the current owner by Silverstone Auctions in 2015.
The car has been in our vendor’s private collection, garaged together with some significant Porsches and Jaguars, and used occasionally for fair weather outings. The history file contains receipts of maintenance works by various UK Porsche specialists and shows evidence of its earlier history. Presented to auction freshly serviced by marque specialists Davie Griffiths Racing, an odometer reading of some 32,106km and an MOT valid until October 2021.

One of the most sought-after air-cooled 911's ever built, the 1969 911S was debuted with a longer wheelbase and Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI) which provided for a significant increase in performance. Equipped with a rare factory sunroof, this Italian-delivery example is said to have been imported by its previous owner to the United States within the last 10 years before undergoing some considerable maintenance items. This beautifully presented 1969 911S is now being offered by its seller in New Jersey accompanied by original books and tools, a collection of records, a Kardex, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
Only offered between the model years 1968-1969, the rare Ossi Blue (6803) paint on this example is said to be in excellent overall condition except for a few minor blemishes as depicted in the photo gallery. This top-of-the-line 911 S-version can be distinguished by its anodized rocker panels, wider rubber moldings, and gold rear lettering. Fog lights and factory pop-out rear quarter windows are equipped and the original date-coded Fuchs wheels ride on brand-new period-style Michelin XWX tires.
The Red leather interior is said to be in excellent, highly original condition. The seats were previously reupholstered, and the headliner was recently replaced along with the resealing of the factory sunroof. The original Blaupunkt "Bremen" radio is said to be fully functional as well as all other gauges and accessories. The 5-digit odometer currently displays 17,592 kilometers and the total mileage is reported to be approximately 117k kilometers (72k miles).
This 911S carries its original 2.0 L flat-six engine which features Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI). 170 HP is distributed among the rear wheels through a number’s matching 5-speed 901 manual transmission. Koni shock absorbers are equipped and service records provided in the photo gallery show meticulous upkeep under previous ownership with a major overhaul of the engine, gearbox, suspension, and braking systems in 2017.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, the original books, tools, and spare tire, service records, a Kardex, an Italian Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean title. Dealer Description:
1967 was the first year Porsche released the highest performing version of the original short wheelbase 911. According to a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and Kardex, this particular 911S left the Porsche factory in May 1967. Delivered through selling dealer Autogerma of Bologna Italy to first owner and resident, Luigi Biuagli, this 911S was produced for the Italian market and optioned with only a Webasto gas to escape punitive taxes that might have been due if the retail price exceeded a certain threshold set by the Italian tax authorities. After one additional Italian owner, the 911S was imported into the United States in 1985 and subsequently passed through two more ownerships before being purchased by current enthusiast custodianship. In January 2014 a comprehensive circa three-year restoration of the 911S was commissioned. Mechanical and suspension work was entrusted to Tony and Marco Gerace of TLG Auto, marque specialists in North Hollywood, California who rebuilt the 911's 2.0-liter flat-six engine and refreshed the original Type 901 5-speed gearbox. Well-regarded Esposito Porsche Repair, also of North Hollywood, meticulously disassembled the car which was found to be very original with date-coded gas tank and gauges while fenders, trunk and engine lid bear were stamped with the last three digits of the chassis number. Testifying to the quality of the restoration, this car was exhibited at the June 2018 Rodeo Drive Concours in Beverly Hills and won both its class and division at the September 2018 Porsche Club of America Zone 8 Los Angeles Concours held at the Petersen Museum. In October 2018, this car was chosen to participate in a special commercial commissioned by Porsche to commemorate its 70th anniversary which premiered at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2018.
