Notes: "Sought after 1972 year model Porsche 911T with Targa removable top. Painted Porsche Guards Red over original Sepia Brown. Rust free chassis with solid front battery boxes, headlight buckets, rockers, floor pan and pedal area. Problem spots are pictured and will be happy to send additional photos if you want to see something specific. Oil filler located under Targa bar ahead of passenger side rear wheel, unique to 1972 and very desirable.
1972 911T 2.4 liter Mechanical Fuel Injected (MFI) motor runs strong, but needs tuning. The transmission is a 5-speed transmission. It is quiet and shifts without gear crunch or whine, clutch is good.
Manufactured in May 1972, the car has good rubber everywhere. The rubber pieces around the Targa bar and top of the windshield which are difficult to replace are in good condition. Good chrome. Four 15" Fuchs allow wheels with near new BF Goodrich tires. Recent full exhaust.
Interior is pretty good all original. Driver’s seat stitching coming out, passenger side door panel needs work, but basically pretty sound. All glass is fine with no cracks. Side windows roll up and down perfectly."

Notes: "THE GOOD-
I have receipts dating back to 1990. The car was weel maintained in that time period. I have the original owners manuel and even better-the ORIGINAL window sticker. The car has passed current Vt registration inspection through Oct. 06. The latest receipt(see photo) was for $3495.72. This is dated 9/20/05. This was for a complete brake overhaul including calipers and a complete carburator overhaul. The carbs look like new!! The engine runs great and shows great oil pressure. The transmission shifts through all the gears flawlessly.Someone spent a lot of time on the body and repainted the car in the original red color. It is a nice shiny clean job. There is a new carpet set installed. The headliner is new. The door panels are in nice shape. The missind drivers door pocket is include with the auction. The doors are solid. Look at the photos the outer body looks solid. The front suspension pan has all been replaced. The sunroof motor works. The wheels are original Fuchs Including the spare. This car has NO accident damage. It appears after an inspection to have never been hit.The front trunk looks great. The dash is in great shape other than one crack in the center. The exhaust has beeen updated with SSI Stainless steel heat exchangers. The car is complete with really nice trim.
THE BAD-
Whoever fixed this car obviously spent a lot of time to make it look good. The floors are solid in the middle but the edges need repair. The underside if the car definately needs rust repair. The car was overfilled with oil so now it smokes when running I believe it is only oil in the exhaust because it gets worse as the exhaust heats up and it is clearing the more I run it. The front bumper has been grafted to the front of the car( Probably too much Boyd Coddington watching). The sunroof motor works but it will need outer seals and cables. The drivers seat upper has a hole.
Basically this is an opprotunity to own a car that is going up in value everyday at a fair price. If you can do some welding for patch panels or have someone do it for you you will have a cool driver. All the cosmetic stuff is done. The car looks great when walking by. It runs great."

Notes: "You are bidding on a 1969 Porsche 911T still very solid when I bought the car it was in storage and I had plans to restore it to new shape due to my health I have to sell it my loss is your gain. It has 16" Pirreli tires on it and porsche aluminum rims, The body seems to be in fair shape for the year as well as the interior. I have had to tune up the motor and have the carbs rebuilt when I bought it and ran just fine, Just 2 weeks ago I had put a battery in it and fresh gas and tried to start it it wanted to start but wouldnt it probally needs to be gone through and tuned up im not really sure as im not a porsche expert. I have a spare fiberglass engine lid for it with a tail on it.So the car is as is as I did not get it started. the odometer reads about 89,567, I do not know the past history of the car."

Notes: Engine #6195119; "Really nice solid 911T with many desireable S options: "S" appearance package, Vented "S" brakes with alloy calipers, "S" gauges, front and rear sway bars, "S" leather wheel (only very lightly showing its age, really superior), original tool kit, new stainless exhaust, valves adjusted, oil changed, and carbs synced today, all of the good stuff you are looking for, none of the twitchyness of the high-strung S and the iffy suspension of the E. Re-manufactered Weber IDA 40 carbs. Interior in very clean shape, headliner very good, seats beautiful (though the stuffing is a bit flat), radio is an early 70s Blaupunkt cassette deck that looks good and works, the door pockets are all there and just need a little fiddling (I will send along a bungie). Third owner, second family. 123, 000 miles are believed to be accurate and documents show that the car has covered 1300 miles in the last 17 years, though the car has not sat unrun in that time. The inner and outer rockers were done as was the battery box. The paint is what I would call good for 10 feet. Done 15 years ago. Very deep gloss, but the paint on the hood is checked. No rust bubbles in any of the usual places at all. The car pulls very strong in all gears, and shifts smoothly. Second gear syncro is a little weak when cold, but shifts well when warmed up."

Notes: "Good News
The exterior is in very good shape with little or no rust and the paint is nice and shiny. Brake Calipers were professionally rebuilt with new disc's, hoses and Calipers. Also new Optima Battery, new shocks and torsion rods have been installed along with a Beautiful set of Fuchs wheels and BF Goodrich tires (Front 205/55R16 and Rear 225/50R16).....95% tread left!! The car has been slightly modified with RS bumpers and wide rear fenders. I also installed a very cool later model real spoiler with working rear brake light....the spoiler does not move out at high speeds. The Interior has a Awesome MOMO steering wheel, DAD racing seats, new carpet and mats, short shift kit, AND the Tunes.....Hideaway JVC KD-LX300 AM/FM CD Player with Kenwood 500W Amplifer blasting through on Rockford Fosgate Speakers!! The original 2.2 engine is very tight and runs strong and fast, the 4 speed transmission is tight and was professionally taken apart and put back together with new seals and gaskets....didnt need rebuilding. Also added were RS door panels.
Bad News
The paint is nice and shiny but could use a good buffing to be almost perfect. On the body there is a scratch or crack on the drivers side rear fender. In the front trunk area there was one rusted area that has been repaired but can be seen with the trunk open. The car is equipped with AC but does not work. I bought a new compressor that goes along with the car that will hopefully fix it but I'm not sure. Occasionly the car will backfire so the carbs or timing may need some attention....Included in this I have lots of spare parts including a several distributer caps, coil, Bosch Distributer and 2 Permatune boxes, fuses, lights and books. Lastly the windshield has a 2 inch crack on the passengers side bottom but has been there for the past 5 years without getting any worse and the drivers side window crack needs a new knob."

Winning bid: US $12,500.00
Date sold: Oct-23-06
Notes: "This auction is for a beautiful classic gold 1971 Porsche 911T. It is in very good cosmetic and mechanical condition. The odometer reads 18772 (meaning 118,772 miles). This car was owned by my late Father-in-law and has been professionally maintained for many years. A detailed description of the vehicle as well as legal conditions for the sale are described below. I've set the reserve at $8,500 because this is the minimum required by the probate court.
The vehicle was purchased by my Father-in-law from a local sports car dealer in 1998 for $9,700. It has a 6-cylinder turbo engine. The vehicle serial/VIN number is 9111103696. The car runs well and has excellent pickup—it is very fun to drive. I believe that all of the controls, gauges, and electrical systems are working properly. The gauges are pristine and look very nice. The breaking is strong and the car tracks well during acceleration and deceleration. You could definitely pickup this car in Sparks and drive it back home with you. We have several Porsche and third-party operations and service manuals. We have all maintenance records since its purchase in 1998.
The vehicle exterior is in very good-to-excellent condition with no major dents, scratches, chips, etc. All of the chrome, trim, wheels, bumper, mirrors, and lights are in very good condition. The tires are in very good condition and have many thousands of miles left on them. There is no sign of rust anywhere.
The interior of the car is in good condition. There are no major problems with the seats. The dash has a few cracks (the largest is 3 inches long and 3/32” wide) and is now covered by an after-market dash cover. The flooring is worn, but not ripped or worn-through. There are seat covers protecting the front seats and floor mats all around. There is a one-inch long tear on the inside of the driver’s side door panel, near the edge, and a small piece of the trim will need to be re-tacked. The only thing that I know of that is not stock is an after-market Pioneer cassette-stereo, that was professionally installed in the dash.
LATE BREAKING INFORMATION -- PLEASE READ! I've been corrected by the many Porsche experts who have visited the page. This is NOT a turbo. My mistake. I understand that the T stands for touring, NOT turbo. Sorry. I also understand that the color is champagne, even though the dealer's bill of sale says gold. I'm learning a lot about Porsche cars. Thanks for all the interest."

I bought this car last June and I have been working on it since day one, it is a very nice no stories 911, with a lot of records dating back to 1992. I think this is a 2 owner car, it includes original owner's manual
There is no rust on the car at all the unibody was inspected and found to be sound, there was also no sign of any accidents. This car has been converted to a "R" look car with a TRE motorsports Kit that includes rear and font lights, rear and front bumbers, decals, rear grill, hood and decklid rubber holders.
The brakes are standart 911 brakes on the rear and aluminium "S" brakes in the front, the whole suspenssion was taken apart, cleaned and repainted.
The car has been returned to it original yellow per the color code plate, the paint is 2 months old all new rubber was used when the car was put back together . The car was taken apart for paint.
The transmission and motor (2.4 MFI) where cleaned and put back on the car, it shifts smoothly and the engine feels strong. The interior features recaro seats, "RS" door panels and brand new "RS" carpet kit
Some other nice features include external cut off switch and front harness bar, the "R" hinges and a set of racing pedals have been order but they are not installed on the car yet ( they will be included and installed )
This ia a very light fast car and a lot of fun to drive. The car was just finished last week and I have to sell in order to raise some money because a good chance to get into a better house has come up."
