Bruce Anderson was doing this when some here were playing with Match Box toys. He's a good guy.
That you don't agree with him does not mean he's wrong or that you're right.
There are too many 911s for sale. The market will dictate the price and right now there are cars sitting unsold because they are over-priced according to "the market". Only the best should be considered for #1 and #2 pricing. The rest are playing "all boats rise with the tide". It doesn't work that way with rusty boats and ones needing to go to the "deep six".
I stated several years ago that the prices had gotten out of hand and I still think there is downward pressure. Nothing goes straight up!
The 69-S at Auto Kennel is a good example. There are plenty of others.
A good friend here sold his car a while back and pointed out to me that he's far happier to be in the position of having sold his car for a fair price than having to look for a buyer right now. Do you realize how illiquid a $70-$100,000 car is?
I've never been about the money because it perverts the fun of the hobby. If I were to be about the money I would have raped and pillaged 3 years ago when all of my motorcycles were worth about 25-30% more than present. The same holds true for my car.
What is my car worth? It's paid for and I frankly don't care. Fun is fun and when it ceases to become fun I'll buy some more motorcycles, pickup trucks or cattle and sell the car. Motorcycles are easier to store. Pickup trucks are always cool and cattle "make money". Can you get your cars to breed and make more? Didn't think so. :D
Now everybody can spit and curse or just go along for the ride. IF you bought in the past 2-3 years you are probably underwater. Accept it and move on. This too will pass. There are those of us that have seen this scenario before. Only the other day a friend told me that he was the only guy he knew that ever LOST money on a Big Block AC coupe. That happened in the early 90's. I was there too and took my medicine. Speculators created that mess. Does anyone recognize a parallel here?

PS: There will be resistance regarding price information because there are a lot of guys who like their privacy and the
IRS out of their lives. ;) It's nobody's business except the new owner. Don't ask, don't tell is in effect. There is such a site but it is not maintained very well.
