Any tips on the stripping process ?

A couple more suggestions:
- cover torsion tube. Find some used torsion bar covers, stuff rags and duck tape in there as tight as possible. Keep any and all blasting media out of there...
- mechanically remove undercoating and sound deadener. Most blasters charge by the hour. It takes a lot less time if you remove undercoating and tar paper first!
- if you are replacing any metal due to rust, cut that out as much as possible before blasting
