here's a youtube video. Pretty cool. Looks like it takes a lot of skill/practice to get a feel for it.

I'm in for a set also, thanks for putting those together.
I know of a motorcycle headlight manufacturer here in the area who is a spinner, a very cool guy, Joel Felty of Headwinds Custom lights.
I am also in for a set....thanks!
Here are the scales used on the 5 protractors with the first test bends of the brass pointers. I have made jigs for bending these. ETA on the protractors is the end of January.

By way of an update. These are the first prototypes for the protractors. These have been laser cut to my CAD drawing, four to a sheet, and are ready to be spun. This will fold over the outer 7mm of the disc where the scales are later stuck on. Also in the photo are the pointers. I have made bending gigs for these so can run them off consistently to shape. The small round items are the cups to hold the magnets. These are welded into the holes in the protractor faces. Thanks to Alan at Canford Classics for lending me access to a 2.7RS to help with the P228c prototyping.

The P228c protractor for the right hand throttle bodies is modified to clear the fan cowling after production. I think? Does anyone have a good image of one. Or can shed light on the correct cut to be made and if this is done by the factory or by owners later? I am in two minds about making this angle cut. But if I don't then the plating will be damaged later.

Michael, thanks for the update! Very much impressed with your world class work! Joy to see and follow the progress! Govert
I am interested in a set. Thanks
Nearing completion now.... ETA end of this month if the cases come in on time.
The ones in the foreground are the new ones.... whilst the ones at the back are the Porsche originals. I have lightly bead blasted the finish on the prototype set to clean up the welding marks but the finished sets are going to be Zinc plated giving them a bright finish like the originals.
You can see that the holders for the Neodymium magnets are smaller than the originals. I had wanted them to be the same diameter and depth, but they proved to be too strong at that size. Seriously, the early prototype set I made was bending tying to pull them off and the magnets kept pulling out of the holders.
The laser etching of the numbers is still too faint so I have asked for this to be cut deeper. This will include my website address 911mfi.com as I don’t want any risk of these being passed off as originals.
I have asked for the scale flange on the pump protractor P228 604 to be cut back to match the originals as its too deep on this prototype.
I am going to email all those interested next week with final details but the price is now on my site.
I have also posted a photo of the pointer bending jigs, as they are quote interesting. They look rather Heath Robinson but are remarkably effective.

Well, 475GBP = $760… I guess its time to sell my 911s, I can’t afford this hobby anymore. :(
Regardless, great work. I wish I had that kind of talent!
Outstanding product...but I'm out of the buy for now.
Maybe the Reg wants to buy a set that can be "rented" out to paid members? ;)
