Hi matt,
Yes it might be the same car. It was red and had awful bodykit, seats and wheels fitted. Dave brought it off a customer in taupo.we had been doing the engine and gearbox for its restoration but it had gone down the common path of us doing a small amount of work, requesting some payment for parts etc and not hearing anything for a couple of years. The previous owner talked about selling it on and off(I offered him money years ago before I brought my Lhd one) for years and save finally waved some money under his nose at the right moment.
It had been registered in NZ and australia as a 1970 car which is what it had been changed to look like. Not sure when or why that happened.

Umm, quick serendipity check here, but does 'Dave ' do upholstery?

I'm not sure about the wheels, something horrible I think. It had old ford escort seats in it we think!
No not a member currently. I have talked to and brought parts off John before though. I work at powerhaus (euro car repair shop)in Wellington, I should post some photos of the work we do. Not much porsche stuff going on at the moment though unfortunately!

This is a great photo, not seen it before. MMU911C was the first RHD 911 to be built, it's far earlier than any of the others. It lives about 30 miles from me, but I've never actually met Simon it's keeper. If I remember correctly from an article it was featured in, it was built in the competition department. I think that's also true of all of the 65MY RHD cars because they were in such small numbers they didn't want to disturb the main production line.

Hi David- I reached out to my contacts at Porsche who summarised the Kardex details for me; it is interesting it's not listed on that old AFN '1 Pager' we have.....that was a suprise to me too.

there still seems to be some doubters on the authenticity or this car,porsche Germany told me it was rhd,we spoke with the son of the original
owner,who confirmed,and also the vehicle archives in wellington also confirmed this as the first 911 imported into nz,when I had the car it was in
primer but did have a lot of red paint on it so sounds like the same car,hey reuben I think I spoke with your boss about a 65 car,does he also own a
early 356,its nice to see these early cars cropping up
