Just returned from Switzerland where 911 & Porsche World comes out sooner than in the states. The latest issue, (October I think), has a great detailed article on back dating the G bodied cars to the pre impact bumper days. Keith uses is own 74 Euro carrera for the article. Definatly worth reading as the pictures tell the story. See above posting picture from KS.
Back dating has been going on in Europe for a while. Curt A. has the first backdated car I have seen over here. I think in the future there is going to be a lot more of it happening here in the states.

This is a '77 with a bolt-on (bolt-off) system. Glass hood latches in the stock '77 striker (no mods). Notice the line where the filler panel meets the stock '77 fender. I'll fill and paint that area on my white car when I back-date it. The rear reflector panel needs the backing panel cut out (no big deal) to accept the early license panel/rear bumper setup.
This is my latest aquisition - a 1973 911E that was converted from new by the supplying Dealer to Carrera RS Touring spec using all Factory parts.
I bought it from fellow Registry member Will Sanchez in Ca - looking forward to seeing it 'in the flesh' in ~ a month's time...

Hi Jens,
Hope you are feeling way better.
That back dating looks like a good answer for the 82SC Targa I'm in the process of buying. Are there kits for this conversion?
OK, I couldn't wait. Here are a couple of Pictures of Kermit, taken along the Blue Ridge Parkway last week. What a Ride!!!!!
