Here is that Franz Blam pic, also a couple of other 72 STs from the day (including a Monte ST), plus Randy Wells pic of the original Kremer car at RRIII. MFI cars were well represented amonst the ST competitors in 72. Not sure that the restored Toad Hall ST originally had 46 carbs....does anyone have documentation or pics from the day of a TH ST engine bay?

In either this thread, Toms or Gibs threads (takes too long to look) there was a letter posted that was written by Jurgen Bath that indicated both MFI or 46 IDA could be had on the 72ST

Cool so I have 2 clear options to still be correct, in as much as you can be correct with this model as you all point out, that is MFI or Weber 46 IDA

I'm sure this has been disucssed but what is the concensus of opinion on hard lines through the luggage compartment v flexible lines for the 72ST. I am trying to buld a racing car replica not a rally
car replica I understand that many of the rally cars used flexible lines but what about the race cars.

I agree with Raj, both hard and soft lines were used by the factory. There aren't many photos from the day of the front trunk area. Here is one from the restored 72 Strahle track car, and one from the restored Kremer ST. I talked with Edmond Harris and others in the restoration trail on the Kremer ST and they all confirmed that the hard lines were used originally. Strahle's lines are shown soft in the photo, and my guess is that the lines were soft originally, or the restorer would have reused the hard lines had they had been present.
