I ordered this one, and one similar to the one shown in the pics except with a chrome base...just to try them out.
Jens:
That leaning driver is Michael Keyser....This shot also shows the marker light pretty well. Looks pretty much like the one I have shown in the pics.
Another shot from 72 Sebring showing Michael out of the car looking pensive...maybe because of engine issues in this 12 hour race...he and Jurgen Barth DNF.
Here is another version that has a darker amber lens with a curved top and with a round front/back profile. I like it better. I would use adhesive to attach it...no holes! I want to see it with the decals before making a final decision. Also, I will remove the black wire. My suspicion is that it will sort of disappear once everything is together on the car.
I have been playing around with some decals, just trying them out to see how they look. The Shell and Toad Hall Racing decals are coming soon. The large Shell logo would go on the roof. It was a special version that is not available from the Shell archives, so the decal shop (Isaydingdong.com) was able to modify an available Shell decal to come pretty close to the original Toad Hall version. They did a pretty nice job with the 'Toad Hall Racing' too.
One pic shows a scene that makes my heart leap a little every time as I walk out to the shop to get some work done....
Gib,
Check out led bicycle lights - you could install the internals and make the roof light work without needing to run a power wire through the roof. Even the little ones are good for 100 hours or so and can be set to solid or flashing.

Gib, it looks like you really have nailed it with the roof light. It's the perfect match for historical accuracy.
Here is one of the original Scheel 300 seats after being rebuilt by my local seat guy (Scott Johnson). The second 300 is still in progress. I sourced the vinyl and cordoroy from Gerrit Blankman (NML-Depot) in Germany. Scott worked at Autos International for 12 years, and knows how to do Recaro and Scheel seats correctly. (Sorry the pics aren't great, but I was tired after a hard days work  I apparently didn't clean my greasy finger prints off the seat before taking the pics....but you get the idea...:o)
Edit: I added another pic after wiping off the greasy finger prints.
I think you have a light leak on the film in your camera phone. :)
seat looks sweet.
I like that it's not over stuffed like so many others tend to be. Nice seat.
