Year: 1973
VIN Number: 9113100432
Winning bid: US $12,100.00
Date sold: Jan-16-07
Notes: "Up for auction is a 1973 911T minus it's engine and seats, but with a truly exceptional body. The previous owner had a very unfortunate experience with a shade tree mechanic. After a couple years of promises, the mechanic skipped town. This is what was left when he retrieved the car from the shop. I purchased the car as the basis for an early hot rod, but have gone another direction. You're bidding on a really nice body here guys, not her brains.
The car began it's life as a 2.4L MFI 911T. Like many Oregon residents, this one lived in California originally. Judging from the color of the plates the car probably moved to up here in the early eighties. The car is equipped with S exterior and interior trim, Five 15"x 6" Fuchs alloy wheels, A factory optional STEEL S front airdam, and front and rear sway bars. It also appears to have dealer installed A/C.
BODY: Exceptional. Dead straight with good gaps. The only thing resembling rust on the car are a few small bubbles under the paint (see photo) on the right front fender. The car looks to have been completely repainted some time ago, in the correct shade of light ivory. The paint is very presentable, but I had planned to re paint it. The paint has plenty of rock chips on the nose and other small flaws here and there. I can find no evidence of repaired collision damage, and I believe all of the panels are original to the car. There has been no rust repair, or even any aftermarket undercoating activity. The anodized window trim is very nice, all of the glass is good.
KNOWN MISSING PARTS: Engine and all accessories, Seats, Seat belts, Fuel filter assembly, WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS IS WHAT YOU WILL GET, with the following exceptions: The 5spd transmission is in the car with the axles still attached (the bellhousing is supported by wire going to the rear shocks), Spare alloy wheel and tire (slight curb rash), Jack, Lug wrench."

Notes: "I've had the car 10 years. It's a fun car to drive and handles excellent. Car is in running condition, but hasn't been driven in aproximately 6 months. The car is being sold as is.
Recently, I put a new clutch in and replaced the gas tank. The photos may not show carpet in driver side, but it is now there. I bought and installed new factory carpet about five years ago. I also put a new seat cover on the driver seat. There are no holes in any of the upholstry. The only thing the car needs is rocker panels and paint. As you can see in the photos, I fiber glassed the passenger side rocker panel. The driver side rocker panel is rusted. The car body is in solid shape other than the rocker panels. The photo of the interior was taken while working on the car. The vinyl is dusty in the picture, but cleans up nicely. The car has 2 12 volt batteries, 1 battery new and 1 aprox 1 year old.
Included with the car is another engine that needs rebuilt, or can be used for parts."

Notes: "1972 911 T Sunroof Coupe- Project car. Original California car, zero rust...look at the photos of the battery boxes and sway bar pan. RS steel flares in rear, expertly done. Great project car to make a RS clone. Never crashed, seats, dash and door glass, instruments are good. Project initially started out as a 3 litre RS project.....guy ran out of money, energy or both at the same time. Original Viper Green color."

Notes: "Up for auction is a very nice 1973.5 with the 2.4 CIS injection system. The car itself is very solid and is a pleasure to drive.
EXTERIOR: The Porsche original color is code #329 which is Oxford /Dalmation Blue. Recently the Porsche was professionally repainted. The luster of the blue is very vibrant. The body of the car shows no signs of accidents. The doors fit very well and still have that Porsche ping when you open the door. The pans are is very nice shape , again please view all the pics. This Porsche has no rust issues
INTERIOR: The interior of the car still is in nice shape. The front two seats were removed and recovered. The rear seats and back area still are in good shape. The dash does have a couple of cracks ( see pics). The carpert still is in good shape for the age of the car. The headliner is complete but has a small hole in the back behind the drivers area. The door panels also are in good shape. The rubber around the glass is in good condition. The guages, interior lights, horn, lights, wipers, cigarette lighter, turn signals, emergency brake all work fine.
ENGINE: The motor is the 2.4 CIS motor that really gets this Porsche moving. The motor has no smoke at start up , the throttle adjustment between the seats works very well. I would not hesitate to drive this car daily or use it as a weekend driver.
TRANS: The Porsche has a 4-speed that shifts smoothly and the clutch performs very well also.
TRUNK: The trunk has the carpet , along with the Porsche tool kit, jack and Porsche spare tire.
GLASS: The glass around the car is very good condition, no cracks ."
"To make clear this is a 4 speed car. They were made in 73 with 4 or 5 speeds as an option. This is a 911 is a pretty rare find with a 4 speed. Also the car had a Porsche Pre Purchase inspection, the inspection results gave the Porsche a nice review. This Porsche should make the new owner happy."

Notes: "THIS PORSCHE 911 TURBO WAS FLOODED THANKS TO KATRINA. THERE ARE MANY VALUABLE PARTS. ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, WHEELS, BRAKES, AND HOOD ARE NOT INCLUDED. YOU COULD DEFINITELY MAKE SOME MONEY IF YOU HAD TIME TO PART THIS VALUABLE PORSCHE. HAS TO BE TRAILERED. WILL NOT DELIVER. "

Winning bid: US $12,800.00
Date sold: Jan-23-07
Notes: "THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR IS IN OVERALL GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. THE PAINT IS SMOOTH AND SHINY AND THE PANELS ARE STRAIGHT AND TRUE. THERE IS THE EXCEPTION OF SOME MINOR PAINT CHIPS AND DINGS THAT ARE JUST PURELY COSMETICS. THERE IS A SMALL DING IN THE LIP OF THE REAR PASSENGER FENDER. THERE IS A HAIRLINE SPLIT IN THE PAINT OF THE HOOD NEAR THE PORSCHE EMBLEM CAUSED BY PUSHING TOO HARD WHEN CLOSING THE HOOD.(PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR DETAILS.)
THE BLACK INTERIOR IS IN GOOD CONDITION FOR ITS AGE. THE FRONT SEATS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE SOME MINOR ABRASIONS TO THE DRIVER SEAT BACK REST.. THE DASH IS STILL IN PRESENTABLE CONDITION WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW HAIR LINE CRACKS COMMON ON THESE CARS. ALL INSTRUMENT AND GUAGES ARE WORKING. THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS MISSING THE DOOR POCKETS.
SINCE THE CAR WAS IN STORAGE FOR ALMOST OVER 10 YEARS THE MASTER CYLINDER AND FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINES HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH NEW COMPONENTS. THE PEDAL CLUSTER WAS ALSO REBUILT AND THE FUEL SYSTEM WAS FLUSHED AT THE SAME TIME.
THE ENGINE STARTS AND RUNS WELL WITH VERY GOOD POWER. THE SOUND IS AWESOME AND IS MUSIC TO THE EARS.... A ROUTINE TUNE-UP IS RECOMMENDED DUE TO THE FACT THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING SO LONG... THE TRANNY SHIFTS INTO ALL GEARS PERFECTLY WITHOUT ISSUES. THE TIRES STILL HAVE SOME TREAD LEFT BUT WOULD RECOMMEND REPLACING THEM AS THEY ARE BEGINNING TO SHOW AGING AND MAY BECOME OUT OF BALANCE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT FAR DISTANCE BEFORE REPLACING TIRES. THE PANS ARE OVERALL GOOD AS EXPECTED ON A CALIFORNIA CAR WITH LITTLE TO NO CORROSION. BATTERY BOXES ARE GOOD."

Notes: "I purchased this car a few months ago with the intentions of turning it into a dedicated track car, but now find myself needing funds for kids college and so I'm offering it up.
The car had current CT reg. when I purchased it, but the prev. owner didn't drive it much because he said it needs new front ball joints. The engine is a 2.2 T motor with Webber carbs it runs but smokes alittle. It has a 5 speed tranny, the interioir is in good gondition for its age with nothing missing that I can tell. The gauges work except for the tach. the cars CD box was updated with a new MSD ignition box and coil and may just need the signal converter..not sure.
Who ever did the update conversion did a very good job, I was told this was a west coast car brought over to CT but don't have any documentaion to prove it, the lack of rust on the chassis makes me want to believe it.
The rims on the car are in good shape and the tires are fair. The paint is peeling in a few spots on the drivers door."

Notes: "This auction is for a 1970 (sic) Porsche 911T project. I started to make a race car/hot rod out of it and ran out of time. One drip rail has been shaved, the other is still on. The car has some rot, it will need rockers, Some floor work, Some quarter and front unibody work. The rear frames are a little crusty where they attatch to the floor. The motor and tranny are for sale seperatley in other auctions. This was origionally a 911T 2.2l 5 speed. I do not have the doors, But i have a very nice short hood and short fenders available with the car, Or you can have the origional Long hood and fenders. You may choose wich ones you want at the end of the auction. The Long hood is very nice, But the long fenders have some small rust holes, Nothing too major but be aware that they do have some small holes. The car also does not have an engine cover or quarter windows or windshield. It has the back seats but not fronts. Also no rear bumper."
