That "Samba" wheel is sure different.
John
Just spoke with the new owner of the Moritz #18 car. Nice guy... needs some parts. Looks like it's going back to Daytona trim.
That's a Pedrini wheel, John... pretty rare, especially in Porsche pattern.
Still trying to score a set.

Raj, I agree with everyone that this shouldn't be touted as concours, not just for the incorrect finishes either. But what you say about the remaining good examples puts this in a position as an exceptional example, and corrections can be made pretty easily. Regarding engine mods... it seems to be less important in this market, but I have noticed that a few cars with hotted motors recently for sale include the original engine. Sixers have been cheap compared to SWB 911's and so many altered way beyond stock, that finding a decent narrow fendered car is cause for high interest, and rising prices. Which have been all over the map... but generally up.
[QUOTE=varunan123;551901]Can people post examples of good concours 914/6 restoration or survivor, low miles./QUOTE]
Guess, that leaves me out. Mine fits into Russ' description above. Not that that's a bad thing.:D
Whaaaaat ???
Thought I was the only one with this anomaly.....
Mine has an Audiovox installed in the dash.....an AM-FM with Cassette player, and was told by the original owner this was as he bought it from the dealership, nearly a full year after it was delivered from Porsche. Car was a dealer demonstrator and went to the first buyer with around 900 miles on it.
For his honeymoon to the Grand Canyon.
BUT, it had an NOS Frankfurt Euro style AM-FM Sideband in a carton inside the rear trunk with some other stuff. Service manuals, sales receipts and warranty repair orders, owner's manuals, o.e. floor mats, the tool bag and tools and some other curious things like an old Burger King sack under the trunk mat with a couple petrified fries inside......how did the mice not find this booty ?
In the vinyl Porsche owner's sleeve, was the Audiovox owner's manual inserted in the Porsche owners and Warranty books. Along with the Dealerships's Business cards and salesman's cards and a description of the location of the Dealer's showroom there in Great Falls , Mt.
The Audiovox unit is non-op and remains so to this day. I listen to the other musical orchestrations emanating from just behind my head, and really have no desire if it ever plays another song.
As an aside here, the hole for the antennae is on the opposite side of where the instruction sheet shows the dealership's lot boy to drill the hole in the front fender. Its drilled in the horizontal vent panel just below the windshield and I get comments all the time from teener owners -in the know- that my antennae is wrong.
Lot boy doing the new car delivery for that day, may have been dyslexic.
On the Andrea's page, if you scroll down to # 6344, it pictures and describes the same Frankfurt as in the trunk of our teener, all repacked in its carton, and just shoved in the corner.
Box is slightly different, but same model number. Neat old piece that came in the car that for whatever reason was never installed. Maybe it was, but then replaced by the Audiovox.....for reasons unknown ???

Do you guys mind if I bump this to the top with some photos? The snow is falling and I am pining for a car ride - particularly 914-6/GT. Besides, Raj asked for some detail shots and this thread has been too quiet. Much to CornyP's dismay...
Photos always welcome, Scott! Very nice indeed... can imagine your Winter is a time for dreaming of Spring drives. :)
@uai: Old ads like that '73 Sport Auto page sometimes rub salt AND intrigue... the guy selling his Kremer 914/6 because of a family rift is
a common sad story. If I did the math right, DM 23,000 in 1973 was about $7,000?... not cheap at the time, but that's only $34K today!
Also, mmmmm, contents of the big Kremer ad... plus the teaser for a lightweight '72 Capri RS. Wonder where those cars are now?
