Oh, and if anyone wants to know, the car had been black (cheap respray) and was originally Irish Green. So its not original in that sense. The colour is Acid Blue. Also, sorry for the photo quality, but I only thought of taking them once I had parked the car.
Well done, or re-done I should say.
That color turned out nice.

Autocross at the Sonoma County Airport...
Been a long time lurker, thought I would introduce myself. I first bought my '67 911 in 1970. Enjoyed 5 years of my youth driving the car, but with marriage, kids and lack of money I sold it to a friend, who later sold it to another friend. To make a long story short I back I bought it again in 1990, but it was in bad shape: rusted front end and torque tube, tired motor, rotted interior from the window's left down, the works. I then went through 5 years restoring it myself (no close up's!), except the front end sheet metal. Bumped the motor to 2.2, stiffer torsion and sway bars and the much love/hated American Mags. I bought these in the 70's from a guy who raced 356's, and just like the uniqueness. Love those fuch's though! So, now I try to squeeze some weekends in Northern Ca with the R gruppe, but too many hobbies make it tough, especially this year. Anyway, just wanted to say hi so you would know who is behind some of my posts.
Welcome Doug.
I really like that mag look - did you have any trouble fitting them ? What are the sizes ?
Car looks real fine from here- nice job.
Now let us know the names and addresses of those who abused that car and we'll form a posse. :mad:

Doug...Nice nasty look with those mags and the bad ride height...Great looking beast....Good job....I'll bet she's happy beeing back with you....
Thanks for the comments. The origional owner had the fenders flaired slightly to put on some gastly Ansen mags with a wierd off-set. As the front has tons of clearance, even at a low ride height, I suspect that the flair may have been trimmed, but I am no expert. They seemed to do a good job doing the flair however, as they have held up well. These are 7" with 225/15 AVS. Here is a picture I posted on another thread.
Nice look Doug! :D And a great story.
Doug;
Did you have any probs fitting the lugs ?
You wouldn't be in the Los Altos area would you ?
