Good comments in here and as usual our Mods are trying to do their best in the common interest. I am not used to interact into this "debate of idea". I am in the same situation as some of us : I own a pretty small business in early Porsches (Classic Tribute) which I do not advertise at all onto the Forum, even on my signature (on ESSES yes), and yes I do sell parts from time to time but personals/private NOT in benefits of Classic Tribute company.
My call.
I am strict on separating the 2 as I consider this forum as non commercial. However I have been more than happy to source parts from pros which are well known in here, and some are REALLY helpful by even providing free tips.
What I have in mind : the Pros, to advertise cars, parts and services under their commercial banner, must pay an add into ESSES on a yearly basis, then the board should conatin a vendor section which list the paid commercial (pros) only, with their details. no advert ! The advert should continue to be listed as it is. You may consider having their ads under their own name listed into the Vendor section.
I seen this running quite well in a french forum.
Now it is quite tricky to diffentiate the pros and the non pros. However I believe pros have not interest to list parts "under cover" for obvious business purposes.
My 2 cents (as you said :D)

sorry, need to ask: what is meant with a 'bump'?
Thanks for asking! It's when one posts a comment to a thread, "bumping" it to the beginning/top of the forum, making it the newest thread.
ah. txs!!
Cheers
As we all know it is possible to be both a genuine enthusiast and a vendor/manufacturer at the same time. Where would this forum be without the valuable contributions from these people, both technical info and new products/old parts?? For sure a less interesting place.
I support all honest reliable guys in the business the best way I can, directing people in their direction when I have the chance.
Lets make it a bit easier for the good guys who are supporting the Registry and helping us keeping these cars old on the road. A vendor section is a great idea.
Personally I would prefer all in the biz (large and small scale) to make it clear in their signature who they are, transparency is a good thing. If you are a vendor or in the biz, be proud of it, I would! :)
