'cept for the plate it's a great photo.
Manu 72S - Nice one, bien fait - who do you think you are , Steve McQueen. ? :D
Shane,
A beautiful car all around. And the best view I have ever seen of the houndstooth pattern on the seats. My originals are in sorry state, and yours are gorgeous enough to give me the inspiration to put them on the project list.
Welcome,
Rick
Thanks Rick - I'll get around to taking prettier shots of the ol girl one day, the driveway at that angle is slightly ordinary - There is something about the houndstooth, quite unique in the early cars, a bit of euro style as apposed to euro trash!!
I lust after a set of recaro sport seats in the houndstooth - Other issues to attend to first though.. never mind. Although it isn't a concourse car so a set of those Torino's (I think ) would probably do.
Thanks again - I'll look for your car in this post
Shane
SIR70T Shane, it would appear that you have a very nice early 911T. There are few of us lowly T owners on this board.
Thanks for taking the effort to manage your pictures and post them. Your car looks to be quite exceptional. Please keep us informed as to your progress/enjoyment with it. Pics required. :D
manu72S...Nice car, road and picture. That image captures the fun of these cars. It also begs me to steal your car and stir up some leaves. :) Nice work.
Shawn.
Shawn - Thanks
Never say lowly in the prescence of my girl!!!! :):) :) :) ;) Be proud Shawn be proud!
Only kidding, I actually think there is only a very small number of people in the world who are turn their nose up at the T thing, I find everyone has an appreciation for the early 911's regardless of the letter on the back.
regards
Shane
I am new to this board - having had it recommended to me by other members of the Australian 901 Register. However, I am not new to older Porsches. Like Lisa Gregory (refer to the Australian thread) I am a second generation Porsche enthusiast. In fact our respective Dad's distantly knew one another (Melbourne is around 600 miles south of Sydney)
My late father was one of the founding member of the Porsche Club in Sydney in the early 60's... so I was born into it. In addition ot the 911 I look after his 1961 356B (bought new) for my Mum.
My car - picture below- is a 1968 911L delivered to Australia in December 1967. It is Irish Green, and is a nice driver. The engine has been upgraded, but retains ins original crankcase. It has 2.2E pistons, cylinders and cams, and an original 4 outlet Arbarth exhaust (a period accessory). I look for tunnels to zoom through with the windows down!
Condition? I have described it like your favourite pair of shoes. Not immaculate, but well kept with a nice patina.
If any one finds themselves in Sydney be sure to contact either myself or Shane Rudd (SIR70T).
Regards,
Justin Reed
PS If anyone is going to Hershey for the 50th PCA Parade - please let me know. It would be great to exchange details / stories.
Damned technology - give me on an early 911 any day!

Welcome Justin:
One of my favorite combinations-Irish green and beige. Looks great.
That car of yours sounds alot like mine - well that exhaust might sweeten yours a bit.
My 67 has those 2.2 E bits also but keeps the original early 67 cams.
