Looks like a re-strike as a 5 is visible. If you could get chassis numbers for "05" or "06" engines you could attempt to determine if the cars are still intact. I'm going out on a very strong limb;) and stating that whatever this was in is LONG GONE so it doesn't really matter. It would be a good core for the guy trying to "get close" to his original "S" engine number.Quote:

I have a 69 S and I am looking for its original engine. According to the COA, the engine that came with the car has ser# 6391539.
The original motor was sold from the car in the 80's from Ottawa Ontario.
I have a '71 Sporto engine # 6218161 complete and available.
Interested to find '69 S engine 63918XX

I know this is a longshot but does anyone know where I can post or get information on a particular engine? I'm looking to try and relocate the original motor for my 1971 911T.
I often see people just post in the want ads but don't know if there is a service or place one can post something like this.
