If how you pay is the problem i think its an excuse, yes it would help to have pay pal or credit, but i bought a calling card 5 € and called directly and michael took my credit number and joined, sent me my decal and still waiting for my esses  but i joined, and hey i am in spain wich is a tad far.
I know also that there are guys who are farther than my self and have joined.

Platas,
Please e-mail Fred Trueman and see if your ESSES has been sent... If it has not, he will fix it... fctruem@socal.rr.com

I am in the process of joining, its just that I sent Michael Hammond a question about CC's etc and I have not heard back yet. It's only been 5 days, so I will wait and see.
I do not have a 911 but hope to, in the near future.
I also notice that the domain name early911registry has been acquired by this board. Perhaps it forebodes a change in name? Remove the "s" to be more inclusive of all longhoods?
Thanks,
Karl.

Karl,
What are you referring to with CC's...
May be I can help...
Cheers,

Thanks Chuck.
I was under the impression that payment was via cheque but that renewals for existing members was possible via cc.
Then when i downloaded the form i see that it refers to cc as a form of payment. Before sending in my cc info, i wanted to verify that as a new member, i could pay via cc.
Thanks,
Karl.

A few months ago, via Chuck's generous invitation, I attended a monthly board meeting. And let me tell you, these guys work their butts off for y'all. It's very impressive.
At that meeting, I brought up the idea of changing the club name to "The Early 911 Registry." I feel there are dozens, maybe even hundreds of early 911T, L, and E owners worldwide who would be more than willing to fork over the membership fee, and more, for t-shirts, keychains, hats, etc., if they felt that their car model wasn't being excluded by the name of the club. (While I'm a paying member, I don't own a T-shirt or hat because I feel weird wearing something that specifically excludes my 911E. And I was thinking I was alone in this feeling until I started reading other posts from people who apparently feel the same way.) I suggested that changing the club name would help enhance the club "brand," shift the $$$ balance sheet permanently into the black, and help the club expand and grow over the next five years.
I wasn't invited back to another board meeting. No hard feelings. I'm a TV writer. Rejection is 95% of my job. (Plus, I want a ride in Chuck's awesome car some day so I'm not out to flame anyone on the board.)
But let me ask a question of the folks who own a 911S...
Would it ruin your club experience if the S was removed from the organization's name? Or is that exclusive designation important to you?
Just wondering...

It ouldn't bother me a bit, Sandy. Legacy and history are hard to let go of, but I think it is worth the trouble. As a newer member, I don't have any of the historical affections to the name. To the contrary, I remember considering buying a T or E many years ago and thinking I would not be welcome here as an equal. I think the name has problems. Imagine if the NAACP were called the National Association of (enter race here) People: do you think that other minorities would feel welcome or feel like second class citizens if one race were explicity called out in the name? Think about it...
-
Sandy,
So sorry you felt you needed another invitation … I was under the impression that you were not interested in attending another meeting… Please, you are more then welcome … And as you know, they are almost always the first Sat. of every month…
And … you can have a ride in my car any time… ;)
BTW - please look at this thread: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ead.php?t=8055
BTW II - Never heard how your last short track weekend went … You missed Ventura for it … was wondering if everything was OK ?
We are indeed going through allot of discussions and proposals at the meetings…
Nothing happens over night in our little club… Considering where it was when it started 15 years ago, and where we are today is quite an accomplishment…
We just need to get healthier, and perhaps more diversified...
Cheers, and thanks for your comments

Those are funny...
John, I like your brand of humor.
However, limiting non paying members to access would be wrong. My free access to this site was the reason I joined (and paid) the Early 911S Registry.
I once again state that we need membership costs at $35 per year. Then we need an icon that inicates non members that post. How about a large "NON MEMBER" ghost like image in a light red color across the screen?
I am just a guy with an early car that benifits greatly from all the knowledge that is posted here. Please do not consider loss of the 911 S designation.
Shawn.
