Notes: "This is a 1971 911E this car has been extensivley restored, the whole car was taken apart for a respray in it's original Ivory color, and while this was being done all the suspension parts, oil tank, gas tank, wheels etc.. where sand blasted and repainted factory correct .The car has "s" trim, RS steering wheel and foglites
The whole engine had a top end rebuilt to original specs with new rings ,reseated valves, new gaskets etc..we also used the turbo mechanical tensionerers to keep the stock look, it has a new clutch kit as well as new bushings in suspension and shfiter linkage.new motor mounts and fresh rubber all over. The 901 tranny shifts nicely. This car is by no means a 100 point concourse car but a very nicely done 911.
It has some flaws such as a crack on the dash, the door pockets are far from perfect, and maybe some other small things that I'm not aware of.
There is NO RUST on the car it has a new front pan and all the areas that had any rust where replaced when the paint was done. all in all a very nice example of a 911E"

Notes: "This nearly rust-free dry example has spent the last dozen or so years in Texas and Arizona and was just driven to the san Francisco bay area. Finished in white over black this car has a powerful and strong 2.2 liter engine producing approximately 160 horsepower. It has had the injection upgraded to dual Weber carbs. It has received the front suspension update with removed hydropneumatic unit, updated chain tensioners, four-wheel disc brakes, FUCH alloy wheels, 5 speed transmission, updated CD stereo and a newly refinished removeable targa top.
Nice chrome and trim, straight clean body panels [the drivers door lost its brake at some point hence a slight crease and misalignment]. The body is 99% dry and rust-free with only one noticeable small spot of bubbling below the rear window on the passenger side.
As you can see by the photos the interior of this car is good though not quite excellent. The dash has one crack at the center, the door panels quite good, the folding hardtop targa panel is excellent having been just redone at a cost of about $1,000! The speedometer, odometer and other gauges work with the exception of the oil level and clock. The seat coverings are good though the driver seat sits a bit skewed.
Along with this car the new owner will receive a comprehensive file of service history including record of about $13,000 work of serice and repair work over the past several years including transmission rebuild, leak service and more. The car just received a service at High Performance House here in Redwood City for about $1400 including new front suspension components, brakes and rotors and a list of several other items."

Year: 1972
VIN Number: 9112210439
Winning bid: US $22,500.00 (BIN)
Date sold: Nov-20-06
Notes: "This car is very original, unrestored, currently shows just over 19.000 miles on the odometer, and it looks and drives like a low mileage car should; fast, smooth and powerful. It is an MFI model with all the correct S optioned suspension, steel spoiler, and full instruments.
The interior is quite original with nearly perfect seats, German pebble-grain top, carpets, door pockets, knobs, et all. Only the dash has a speaker grille crack. The paint is very nice.
Most of the rubber seals are new, supple, and neither cracked nor shrunken. It has the expensive Fuchs forged alloy wheels with newer tires. Original factory jack is included as well, resting where it did the day it left the factory in Stuttgart.
The car also comes with it's original delivery stamped service book, Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio manual, and the correct 1972 911 E owner’s manual, all of which fit in the correct plastic burgundy wallet. Everything is in nearly-new condition. There is also a thick file of receipts showing the car has been cared for and money lavished upon it to keep it in this wonderful condition.
As a matter of fact, ALL records and receipts going back to the day it was first sold in April of 1972 are included!!! Never have I had the pleasure of owning such an incredibly well documented car, leaving no question as to its history.
There is a clear title for this California original vehicle.
The car comes with a comprehensive service history with ALL receipts as shown in the photos of the records that accompany the car. Hard to believe. From every angle the panel fit is incredible and all original; no replaced body panels or accident repairs. The underside of the car is pristine with original undercoating intact. The engine does not leak any oil. A complete, comprehensive engine rebuild was undertaken less then 14.000 miles ago.
The brightwork is excellent and all the glass is clear and undamaged. The car comes with a Porsche factory-installed air conditioning system of the period. The AC compressor and rear condenser have been removed, but are still in my possession and will be delivered with the car. Everything else on the car works, from the hand throttle to the lights. Even the clock functions flawlessly. The car needs nothing. All the chassis plates, stampings and paint code are clear and correct. The original factory radio, although not installed, is boxed and ready to be delivered with the car."

Notes: Motor Number 6290654; "Here is an amazing California survivor, it's a 1969 911E coupe in it's correct shade of Bahama Yellow, one of 954 built by Porsche (not Karmann) it has front and rear sway bars from the factory and the rare rear wiper. I bought it in March of this year from I believe the second owner, he bought it in 1976 and it still has the original little "pink slip" issued at that time. The odometer reads 56000 miles and it certainly feels as though that's all it's covered, I have no proof of this so I've entered it as 156,000
This car has lived its life in the Bay Area and was owned by an engineer, locally known for his work on Porsche engines and transmissions, he took it off the road in 1988 in order to restore it to as new, he stripped the body down to bare metal and removed all of the panels, doors, engine lid, hood and front fenders, front and rear screens, he then repainted everything inside and out to a very high standard and fitted new rubbers to the front and rear windshields, the attention to detail is fabulous.
He fitted a rebuilt gearbox and a front suspension pan at the salme time, you can see that he was skilled at welding as the front pan fitting is absolutely superb, I can only assume that the pan was replaced due to battery acid corrossion, there is not a spot of rust I can find anywhere on the car.
When I first got the car I had it completely steam cleaned to check on the underside and assess the motor. The floors pans, jacking points, rockers etc., are all perfectly rust free. The body gaps are also excellent and the doors clunk shut just as they should, if you look at the pictures you can see that the very edges of the front pans are crisp and perfect.
INTERIOR
The interior is all original, the carpets still have their proper coir overmats, the seats are in nice condition but would benefit from restuffing. The dashtop is crack free and perfect, the headliner is original and has some staining. All door pockets are in excellent condition with original doorpanels and period speakers.
MOTOR
The motor starts instantly and shows very good oil pressure, there are no unusual noises, in fact its very quiet. As you can imagine when I got the car it had been sitting for such a long period that the oil return tubes were leaking, the gas tank was crusty, fuel lines had become brittle and the brakes were suspect. When I first got the car I had it completely steam cleaned to check on the underside and assess the motor. I took the car to a Porsche independent shop I use to do all of my work, he had the tank boiled and POR 15'd replaced the fuel lines, brake hoses, oil return tubes, CV joint boots and anything else that needed sorting, I spent $2600:00 on this.My painter painted the underside black and it looks very clean.
The wheels are 15x 6 Fuchs.
The car runs very well, the oil pressure is perfect and the transmission shifts into all 5 gears effortlessly, there are no oil leaks. As you can imagine someone needs to drive this car for a long distance to bring the engine back to its proper feel. If you read the Porsche Red Book it lists this car as a maual, if you look it up in the Original 911 book it lists it as being a Sportomatic."

Winning bid: US $5,250.36
Date sold: Dec-10-06
Notes: "This Auction is for a classic 1969 Porsche 911E Coupe. This beautiful sports car is the more elegant sister to the more powerful and common 911S. Most of its original equipment is still in place, including the famous 5-leaf Fuchs alloy wheels with matching spare. According to N.A.D.A., the low retail value of this vehicle is over $13,000. Any winning bid under that amount would be a value.
Engine: This car still has its original 2.0 litre, flat-6 engine and 5-speed manual transmission. A previous owner converted the fuel system from its original fuel-injected setup to a more powerful six, single-barrel Weber carbureted configuration. The original fuel distributor for the fuel injection system is included with the car for anyone wishing to restore the fuel system to its original configuration. The carburetors are moderately worn, and in need of periodic tuning to keep them operating efficiently.
Body: The car has been repainted at some point in the past to match the original red/brown color. The age of the paint is unknown, but is in good shape and intact. The upper body is straight with a few minor dings and imperfections. Most of the original trim and moldings are still in place.
The under body and chassis does suffer from moderate rust typical to Porsches of this type and age. This is repairable damage, as replacement panels and components are still widely available.
Interior: The interior of the car is virtually complete. The leather seats are in good shape with a few repairable imperfections, the worst of which is the tear in the driver's seat (an experienced leather repair person should have no problem with this).
The remainder of the interior is in good shape, with only a handful of missing elements, including the kneepad along the bottom of the dash. The headliner is fragile but intact, with only a few minor blemishes.
This is a remarkably intact interior given the age and miles on this vehicle. It is by no means perfect, but is nearly complete and very serviceable.
Other: The electrical system is functional, but in need of attention. One of the match pair of batteries is missing, presumed stolen. One of the chrome headlight bezels has a significant but cosmetic-only dent - it does not affect the function or serviceability of the headlight.
Summary: This classic Porsche is a good car in need of some professional TLC. It is mostly operable, but will need service before being roadworthy."

Notes: "We recently took this vehicle in trade. It has been sitting for a number of years. We drained the oil and gas, replaced with new and got the car started. The car runs but needs a serious tuneup, including tuning the MFI system. Leakdown numbers are 8%, 4,4,4,16,4. The car needs a complete restoration. Outer rockers, rear torsion tube and front part of the front pan have serious rust issues. Otherwise the car seems to be generally complete and straight. Engine number is 6201355. This is definately a "project car" and is sold as is, where is. The car has not had a thorough inspection and would not be considered road worthy without one. Although it does drive around our lot in 1st gear and reverse it could not be driven far with the rusted suspension points. We know nothing about the previous history of the car.
These early cars are getting more and more valuable. Even though this car has some issues it may be worth putting money into since it is one of the rare E cars.
As you can see the rockers are bad. The front pan is not the worst I have seen but does need to be replaced. The main floor pan seems in pretty good shape, I would not say rust free but I don't think there are any holes."
