Yup - however, the aerodynamic advantages of her collar proved ineffective in the end...
Joest and Follmer drove the 0588 at Spa. I can't confirm that the photo you posted is 0588....Muller and Van Lennep were in 0576 at SPA....then the drove 0588 at the Targa a week later...then Muller and Van Lennep drove 0686 at Lemans while Joest and Haldi drove 0588 at LeMans.....story goes that Joest ran it out of gas on purpose at Lemans. If I remember correctly Joest tells the story that the front end splitter was ripped off after going off track much earlier and with the big Mary Stuart tail going down Mulsane the front was so light there was no amount of steering input that could keep the car on track.....so he ran it out of gas cause he thought he was going to die continuing to drive it that way. I'm fuzzy on that story, so maybe someone could chime in.....Quote:
