Tom,
I would agree with this for both the seller and dealer.:)

Very interesting point here Luke and I think it applies to another recently started topic. Two cars, a 67S targa and 67S coupe, both listed for sale by the same person. One listed on this board and the other listed only on ebay (full disclosure -- after much discussion the first time it was listed). This action is certainly a tribute to the creditability of this board and highlights the shifty-ness of this seller.
Quite frankly, I think Pelican has a very good policy to not allow any comments on cars for sale. Who cares about the opinions here of viewers ? Most of the malidiction is started by the same people just to be controversial. It's not like members here have driven to the S Registry showroom and test-driven these cars for sale and then given their opinions. It's rubbishish-in & rubbish-out.
I care about the opinions of the members here. Pelican is a dictatorship. I have learned almost everything I know about early 911s from this board. Now granted, that's not much, but if a muzzle is placed on all comments, then my learning, along with everyone else's learning that values this board will cease.
If only a few people create the "controversial" comments, then regular users learn to take what they say with a grain of salt. I believe the tough love attitude of this board keeps it from becoming ebay. And besides, a little controversy never hurt anyone. Bottom line, if you are going to post a car for sale here, you better have your stuff together and can describe every flaw or non-original part or be prepared for that "tough love."
malediction.............another new word................
mal·e·dic·tion
NOUN:
1] invocation of evil; a cursing; curse or imprecation; opposed to benediction.
2] a speaking of evil about someone; slander.
Yikes, serious sh#t.
I like the nature of this board. It is interactive, informative and entertaining the Pelican style is just a listing. The down side is it might cost the community the opportunity to view all offerings. The upside is the posters will only post accurately or suffer the wrath of the knowledgable.
As far as the malediction it is just part of the entertainment!
Jason,
Not to say anything one way or the other regarding the seller who has two 1967 S cars for sale, but my guess would be the coupe is not posted for sale by him here as it's an auction, and our rules dictate you state an asking price. Do you think that is the reason?
Malediction.(SP) .50 words deserve to be spelled correctly. ;)
I'm a straight shooter. Car lots, brokers, dealerships and shady sellers are fair game. Magazines like SCM do this with impunity. Being a sycophant is not something I want to be known for.
What was said about this car is the absolute truth and it should not have been distorted into anything hurtful as I never said it was a bad car. It is a #3 but that's not a bad thing if you understand that most of us are in 3's. NOBODY is driving a #1 car. And, as for Randy I say: "Well Sold".
Move on.

Fair statement for the faithful.
