The White's ordered the car for Factory delivery and picked it up in Jan. '71. They were going to be living in Stockholm for about 9 months as Bob was on sabitical from the Univer. of ILL and would be working in Stockholm.
After picking up the car they did a small European tour to Switzerland and Austria. When coming back to Germany they went to the Nurburgring to watch a special night stage of the Monte Carlo Rallye.:)
They stayed at the Sporthaus Tribune (no longer there) and of course did a lap of the 'Ring'. There is a ticket for the car as well as two additional passengers.

A little later that year Bob and Wilma (the kids stayed with friends in Stockholm) went back to the Ring, this time as specal guests of Porsche, where they had free access to the paddock and pits for the Nurburgring 1000KM. They arrived mid-week and were able to watch practice as well as the race.
Wilma picked up a program and during the weekend managed to get a few autographs from a few guys you all know.:) She also kept track of the progress of the race (I don't really have this figured out).

Very nice Brian. It is absolutely unbelieveable that the Whites saved all that stuff, especially the letters, hotel receipts, and 'ring tickets.

On one of the photos Bob I had noticed an interesting grille badge so when I was there I asked if he still had it so I could take a photo of it. I should have known better, not only did he still have it he graciously gave it to me. What a guy!:)
This is the predecessor to the Porsche Club of Sweden.

Le Mans Movie Poster
Just invested a couple hours looking at all the impressive posts!! Didn't see a post for the US version Le Mans poster. Not sure what the 71/153 markings signify... All agree it is authentic and has the fold marks to proof it! Please excuse the poor quality photos...
