I see some "scoops" under the front end of #1 and #2...does anyone know if these are for the brakes or engine cooling...great thread...enjoy every posting!
The #1 car is the Alan Johnson 6.

I totally agree here.
Just a matter of a few short years, the well continues to dry up.
The really great cars don't go anywhere unless its death or serious consequences dictating sale.
Captain K's sidekick,
"The really great cars don't go anywhere unless its death or serious consequences dictating sale."
You hit it on the head: Death was the circumstance surrounding the purchase of mine just as it will be the reason for the next buyer. :)
The reason I said what I did about death or serious consequences, is from my own observed situations and some of my friends. Some really great cars once owned by me, and a few I still have.....
In my case,
car A- pending divorce-- ( Dr. owned )
car B- Bankruptcy forced by Drug habit-- ( Dr. owned )
car C- Death by war in Vietnam
car D- pending retirement, quickly followed by death
car E- Son's death by suicide
car F- Infant's death by vehicle- run over in the yard
car G- Divorce and liquidation of assets
car H- Loss of job
car I- Husband's death
car J- Death of wife and remarriage
car K- Retirement and move out of state- liquidation of all assets
car L- Loss of high profile job and consequent divorce
car M- impending death by cancer- 1 month later
almost half of these I moved on, but every purchase had a story, and none were good ones except for the purchaser.
Good grief! If I believed in karma or juju I would say you're toast. Can't wait to hear about N-Z.
As for "D": I totally understand that one: For me, death and retirement will occur on the same day.
Actually, I need to clarify, I WAS the purchaser from the ones that had those problems.
The only guy that came to a positive result , was me......and then the ones that purchased those cars after I sold them on.
As to " D "........I again had a life the day I retired 2 years ago. FREE to do MY thing on MY time , MY way. Cannot tell you how many Porsche experiences I missed due to work, denied leave, or other workplace environment conflict.
Blood pressure went down, life began to look cheery again, and you know........if I sleep in till 6:00 am , I feel a little guilty, but I just sit a little longer over coffee , and the feeling soon passes. ;-0
I would not be alive at age 58 if I didn't retire when I did.
It is a GOOD thing and I should have found a way to do it at 40.
