I find it strange it was an intake valve, and the only one that seems to be bent.....the rest seem to be seated great. I didnt shift incorrectly, and I was around 6800-7000rpms. no kisses on any other piston either.Quote:

Thanks to PeterM for the helping hand with that. After having arrived there barely getting her into gears at all I actually made it home after the fix and it felt better than before... :)
I participated at the «Coupe des Alpes 2013» with my lovely Trudi! We (220 cars!) drove from Evian to Cannes in 3 days (about 800 km), passing many famous passes (unfortunately, La Madeleine was closed because of the snow…) before finishing on the beach of the french palaces! Great weather, good roads, good food, great friends and no cops… Trudi was in huge form, with her new engine and gearbox. But she broke 4 of her 6 pipes! These alloy pipes seems too heavy and they broke on the base because of the vibrations. The mechanics from the organization sticked them perfectly and we drove without any other problem. With the RSR exhaust «open», Trudi won easily the price for the loudest car of the rally…
We came back yesterday by the «Route de Napoléon»*(Cannes-Grenoble, about 350 km), a marvelous mountain road, because we could'n get enough of curves, accelerations and strong brakings! We finished with 200 km of highway to be back home (Switzerland). Trudi did 1500 km with a large and confident smile.
On a picture, you can see the height of the snow, just before arriving on the top of La Bonnette pass (2802 m, the highest «macadam» pass in Europe)! A guy with a jaguar had an accident: he hit the snow on the left side of the road. Good choice, the right side was a drop of several hundred meters…
The other picture is the arrival in Megeve, on thursday afternoon. I will send other pics later on another the thread.

No problem for the cylinder, because the cut was very clean. By the way, a specialist told me small microscopic pieces of alloy are not dangerous for the engine! I will have new plastic pipes soon. And I heard that Porsche made steel pipes with 8 reinforcements because of this problem of vibrations. Good to now after the problem happen…
Refininished a set of wheel this weekend! Also stripped some off the paint of the chrome
trim.

Wow, I've never seen that happen before- breaking off the intake stacks.
A year ago in May i finished up my suspension refresh (redid everything underneath), and then had to take an indefinite break from porsche related fun while we got the house ready for market, put all the parts and tools, and goodies and 2 parts cars in storage (i only had a tiny 1 car garage and everything else was in the driveway!). We closed in the house at the end of april and moved into a one bedroom apartment.
2 weekends ago we went into contract and last weekend we had our inspection. I got Fritz a new home (and Missy a new home too).

the garage is smaller than i was looking for, but the house is right on the money, and at 30K below our budget price, we will have some extra and in a year or two will be able to tear down the old garage and put up something a bit bigger. the city already confirmed i can go as big as 30x24. a little bigger would have been nice but still enough room to stuff 3 911/12s into and plenty of room to work with two cars in there.
in the mean time i am so psyched to have a garage big enough to wrench in! no more tearing down parts cars in the middle of winter or working on cars in the scorching summer sun. im just excited to start playing with toys again!!!!!
Ahhhhh, I wouldn't count on that, looks like you'll be too busy taking care of that nice big yard :)
