Interesting choice on the fuel system: Weber upgrade (with electric Bendix pump) AND original dual fuel pumps still in place. And among other things, looks to have been restored in red leather. Thanks.

I have seen this 65 in person - and it is fabulous! The interior is vinyl, however it does look like leather. I asked the owner about this and he told me that they used the exact same mill that supplied Porsche. The same vinyl that Porsche Classic uses. The carbs were updated to webers in lieu of the original. This car is pristine and would love to add it to my small collection. However no cash - building a new house, which some of you may know is all consuming of time and cash.
I think it will bring more than the estimate. Very well done.
stunning car. One of my favorite colors. Did you sell it?
Porsche didn't offer the FACTORY AUTHORIZED swap to Webers because the Solex was reliable.
The now ubiquitous Weber carburetor was the answer to reliability/running issues and PORSCHE offered Webers to their customers as a warranty repair.
Long ago (40+years), before owning the earliest 911 became a "brass ring", a '65 or '66 was viewed with a jaundiced eye BECAUSE they might have Solex carburetors. I recall this as if it were yesterday. People forget.

My point is that '65 buyers want Solex's. If this car breaks the bank (250ish) I may reconsider my position. Although if it does bring that kind of dough the argument would be that maybe it could have fetched close to 300 with Solex sys?
My worthless opinion? Nadella's and Solex's are necessary evils for top dollar 65's.
This car is the perfect lab rat. Let's watch and see.
BTW: Has Nick's car been discussed?

I concur on the early-early '65's. OTOH, if they have Webers I'm not going to throw rocks at a car especially If Wolfgang Rietzl or his west coast counterpart signed off on the warranty swap. Wouldn't that be a piece of paper worth something?
FWIW, Solex carbs that were "factory tuned" after the fact have peculiar markings on them.
Details, details...
Incorrect closing panel for deck lid. Gentleman I met stated the factory had done the same thing to a car but enough noise made by people who knew better that when he saw that car a short while later they had changed it to the correct profile.
The 3rd photo is of a correct panel.
