Seeing this made me think of 1059 . . . parked at the curb, a coupla blocks up the hill, out in front of this kinda sketchy-looking apartment complex

Next morning, we got up not-so-early, then headed down to the Legends of the Autobahn show, in Carmel Valley . . .

Had a fun time --- again. Blustery . . . but still warm enough that Zovig even took off her sweater (!)

We love the whole Monterey area --- but especially Carmel-by-the-Sea . . . so, after the car part, Zovig and I headed out for CbtS . . . for the tourist part
OK-OK --- I got us a little lost . . . followed a County Sheriff into this rabbit warren of residences and --- lacking GPS, breadcrumbs, or any real clue . . . I took us for a tour of some of the neighborhoods

The camera view overlooking the house in "A Summer Place" is now occupied by an array of $5-20M weekend homes. Enjoy them too and visit the nearby Carmel Point geocache while you are in the vicinity . . .

I'm not a big FLW fan --- I think most of the prairie stuff is too square/weird/ugly . . . but I do love the way his buildings become part of their surroundings, the materials he uses, also their 'openness'

Nothing wrong with free . . . and I'm sure these cars are all here because of The Monterey Week --- but, still . . .
After window-shopping/goofing-around for a while . . . it was time to head out/home

4) Seriously. This is Carmel-by-the-Sea. Carmel-in-the-Woods, more like. Small houselets, all squished-together --- just like a lotta places in CA. But, with all this greenery? . . . who'd notice. Or mind? Wonder what The HOAs are like around here . . . please keep your Ferrari off the street

1) Aston Martin Vanquish. V-12? Newish --- going by the plates. Expensive --- I guess, but . . . kinda quiet. And brown. And slow. Well . . . slower than us. In traffic

2) Maserati. GranTurismo? Nice fruity/barky/burbley exhaust note. But he was slow, too = no traffic skills. So we whipped right by this Guy, doin’ --- what . . . 10 MpH?

3) + 4) Ferrari 458 Italia. Automatic only? Spor----------ty. Driver looks height-challenged. Have to admit --- this car sounded pretty good, too. Not-too loud, smooth, high --- but kinda whiney/electrical, almost. Like a bug was in my ear. Bugged me. So I stuck 1059 into 2nd . . . took her up to ~4k, then let ‘er run-out. Tigersound!, there, Shorty. Passed him, too --- like he was standing etc

5) Looks like a Gulfstream --- 450, maybe? How Really Rich People avoid traffic. They fly OVER it. But? . . . they were going the other way, so . . .
