whats even more incredible is no racing suits in a lot of them too... i think its a group 1 rally thing. notice the 912s also have a back seat.. the Albin Griberg/Lennart Svensk pic from behind clearly shows a stock dash (with ashtray and radio delete, but with brushed aluminum facia). Group 1 rules are pretty cut and dry.. as it left the factory. you can add extra lights for safty, but thats about it. couldnt remove or add anything else really. now i am not sure if the roll bar was part of that or not (i would think a roll bar would be mandatory too, even in group 1).
maybe thomas or one of the experts can chime in on the lack of roll bar.

Found this text for roll bars, think you have the explanation that why you did not have roll bars rally cars. But I know that some drivers in racing had roll bars, but these cars were not registered for driving in the street. They were transported to the races at the trailer.
The inspection
Were compulsory, both before and after the race. The verification focused especially on vehicles proclamation (FK) and SVEMA / SBF's regulations. Until the early 60th century also used a car injury protocol. The more dents you had during the race, encounter, more vehicle damage dots / seconds it went. In the 70's introduced road book, where earlier deficiencies must be corrected, for the next contest. A strange thing was that no roll bar was approved to be used at private driving the race car. In normal inspection at the Motor Vehicle Inspection, must be the protective equipment is removed, which of course was not the easiest. This provision was well into the 70's ....
