Special early 1964 features on 1965 cars

I went to look at the car this morning (1666). I've owned the car for about two years, and although I've spoken to the original owner, I cannot with certainty attest the car to be completely original, but I believe most is.

It has:
- no luggage hook/strap in the boot,
- it has non adjustable front shock towers,
- it has circular indents in floor plan,
- it does not have flat engine latch panel
- it does not have long engine lid
- the fuel door release is normal but with a small knob
- it has grey turnsignals gaskets
- it does have the small knob declid release
- it does have the wedged door frame
- it has 3 screw door frame
- it does not have the tall engine grill
- it does have the black under grill
- the heat exchangers are normal (but have been changed according to owner)
- it has regular carpet with leather trim pedals
- it does have the leather handbrake boot and the gearshift
- it does not have the 4 or 5 dash

wow nice pics! I think all clear now on 1666 except for the shift knob and the cam shaft centre lubrification. No 4 button dash could indicate the change happened around mid 1965. Has anybody more info on that?
The door hinges with allen bolts is also becoming a topic, as it appears some 1965 cars have that.

the circular floor indents are shown in earlier post as well as last post from Milou. Small knob engine deck release is shown in a post from milou just above as a pic from 1666, I would imaging you have that. Can you pls check?

There is a nice pic of the strengthened valve cover in milous post. Now the thin ones starting 1964 are slightly different especially around the screws. You clearly see on Milous pic that the area around the screws is as high as the ribs. In earlier model that area is as thin as the main plain. Also the outer ribs are as thin as the others for the early version, whereas in Milous pic you see these are thicker. The reason being the bad oilleaks due to the wrap of the cover when tightening. It helped but did not completely solve the problem. That was only later when the 6 screw version was replaced by the 11 screw type, and even then, as people replace these for turbo versions for the 964 for example.

I can add a data point on a few of these. On my October 1965 car (2470), i have the mushroom head shift knob, centerlube cams, Dash has no buttons and door hinges have Allen head bolts. Also has rubber floor mats, rubber shift boot, rubber e-brake boot.

Shift knob is plain mushroom with dimple on top.

Regarding the ¨cam shaft centre lubrification,¨ I'm not sure what I should be looking for.

Ok here is what I have found. My valve covers must be the earlier style because they are not flat/reinforced like Milou's.
I have the same engine release knob as Milou although my gas door knob is the same type knob but a smaller version like 12mm diameter I'm guessing. My trunklid release knob is the same as the decklid. The screws that hold my doors on are hex head bolts not allens. I have looked at all the pics I have of the floor of the car and don't see the round things, but still can't tell exactly where they are located from Milou's pic. Car is in storage but I will check next time.

Want to talk about brakes? Sorry , but I've been hoping a list like this would get compiled. I appreciate it.
