The Porsche Museum car had just been at my upholsterer.
It is vin 302503...
and yes it has red armrests, but! a leather interiour.
As far as I understand is the two tone for vinyl aka skaidur -
and the uni for leather interiour..
can s.o. confirm this?

as on the pics.....the camera cannot handle the redtones..

The Porsche Museum hasn't always had a reputation for being the most careful to research original configurations. It isn't impossible that chassis # 302503 originally had black garnish rails and armrests.Quote:

Somewhere along the line I found the Porsche Museum die-cast at a reasonable price. It doesn't compulsively follow the '65 Calendar Year/'66 Model Year configuration:

Instruments should have green letters and chrome bezels

Ok, I'm nit picking. The only serious error is the parking brake ahead of the gearshift. Most of the other nits could be due to reusing elements of a later Porsche 911 die cast model. But it doesn't show a truly obsessive devotion to originality and "correctness."
Looks NICE. Probably wrong ! Porsche AG takes lots of "liberties." For years, this was a museum car. We know today, it is a fake, not doubt !Quote:

It seems that initially there were no caps (correct? Up to what VIN?), then there came caps holding in place w two rivets and last same cap but w 3 rivets. All this w/i the first two years of production.

I would be careful basing too much on the car on BAT as it has been updated quite a bit. I spent a few hours with the car about a year ago and have many detailed photos which I will see if I can dig out. But it had been worked on considerably by people not familiar with such an early car. The seller is the local Porsche dealer in Ottawa.
