That engine "should" have been in one of the last 1965 model year cars. Likewise the transmission is a little earlier than it "should" have been, but not by much, and it is a KD.
So what are the chances that a "failed" engine and "failed" transmission were set aside, picked up by the race department, and given new life in this 911R? Impressive.
Interesting story! what do you mean by KD?
KD or AT are rebuilds or replacements.
I had a factory built Grp. 3 engine which had the AT prefix.
