Installed my spare (wheel refinished to match 'blasted' look of Fuchs on car).
the visible fruits of today's labor........
Australian-made, "Performance" brand lightweight Minilite replicas, 15" x 8", in the rear only, refinished in Cromadoro gold by Harvey Weidman - of course, who also modified the wheels with steel inserts to permit the use of new Porsche hemispherical lugnuts,.......... plus a lot of little things you can't see - the " while I was down there" kind of things.

Purists will cringe...but everyone knows the seat belt mounts on SWB cars are in the wrong place. Too high. Uncomfortable to wear and potentially dangerous in accident. I'm currently building a '68 Renegade and did the following simple and inexpensive solution to the seat belt anchor problem on SWB cars. I picked up the center seat belt mount (a "U" shaped piece) from a '74 or newer donor car at EASY. With a little cutting and welding I installed it in my '68 Renegade project. Then I used a hole saw to mount two plates with nuts welded to their backs to the inner rocker panel sides. In short, I now had the seat belt set-up that '74 and newer 911's used. It's easy to do and safe and you can use any seat you want with it. Best of all...it looks factory (just newer than SWB factory). There is some cutting and welding to be done (thanks to SkidMarx for the welding) but in total it's pretty simple. If you have a SWB car and aren't on the concourse "originality" circuit you may want to consider it. I finished up this project today. (Pics show the final project with the interior.)

I drove it to the local Atlanta Caffeine and Octane event this morning.
We did miss the attendance of a few guys here that wouldn't dare take their cars out on a cloudy day. ;)
