I think it may be the original number.

Not the best effort at stamping the numbers, however they do match perfectly.
Kismet, can you also get photos of the mating #'s on the top of the case, and the casting date codes from the pulley end for me please.

The numbers on the top of the case on either side are 456
There seems little to suggest these numbers have been restamped as the surrounding finish appears to be the original sand casting
Casting appears to be 4th month of 65
