Not exactly early cars, but later cars back dated to look like an early car.
I would only think an early car might be worth similar if not more money?

These are both nicely done cars with a lot of money thrown at them.
But I think it just shows there is a healthy market and appetite for this type of car if it's well done.
'. . . This 1981 Porsche 911SC was extensively modified by a previous owner as a tribute to the Carrera RS. The car was purchased by the seller shortly after being offered on BaT in February 2017, and the build features backdated RS-style bodywork, refinished Fuchs, period-style sport seats, lightweight door panels and carpets, an A/C system, Cibie driving lights, a fender-mounted oil cooler from Elephant Racing, and much more as detailed below. A non-original 3.0-liter flat-six was installed and has been fitted with 40IDA Weber carbs, hotter cams, MSD ignition, ceramic coated headers, a sport muffler, zinc-plated hardware, and more. The fuel system was also rebuilt and a new starter was installed. A short shifter has been fitted, and the 915 transaxle received a new clutch, throw out bearing, and pressure plate. The car is now being offered with the original owner’s manual and toolkit, a binder of records and receipts from the build, and a clean New Mexico title.
Details of the build were documented on Pelican Parts, including the installation of a custom fiberglass long hood with a through-the-hood fuel filler from TRE Racing. Fiberglass fender flares were also added along with RS-style bumpers and a ducktail deck lid. A windows-out repaint was conducted in the original Chiffon White (L182), and grey and yellow graphics were then applied. Additional period details include drilled, early-model chrome door handles, new horn grilles and chrome headlight bezels, and hood-mounted Cibie driving lights.
Bilstein sport shocks were added all around and feature camber plates with monoballs up front. Refinished 16″ Fuchs are staggered in width and wear Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires. Brake calipers were rebuilt and repainted, and Hawk brake pads are utilized along with braided stainless brake lines and ATE Super Blue racing fluid.
Alterations to the cabin include black basketweave upholstery on the seats and door panels, RS-style leather door pulls, AppBiz RS-style carpets, and Coco mats. A vintage-style modern radio with auxiliary capability has been fitted, as has a Nardi three-spoke wheel and vents mounted under the dash for the A/C system installed by the previous owner. A short shifter and wood 917-style shift knob were also added.
The period-style bucket seats feature deep bolsters and have been returned to standard mounting height by the seller. The odometer is said to currently show approximately 176k miles.
A 3.0-liter flat-six from a different 1981 911SC replaces the factory engine and has been fitted with a set of 40IDA Weber carburetors. It is mated to a 915 5-speed manual transaxle, and the following components were installed during the build:
* Replacement clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate, and resurfaced flywheel
* Web Cam 20/21 camshafts
* RSR rocker shaft seals
* Viton seals throughout
* Elephant Racing finned oil lines
* Elephant Racing fender mounted cooler with dual cooling fans
* Distributor recurved and rebuilt to RS spec by Burnham Performance
* MSD 6AL ignition and coil
* Rebuilt original alternator
* New starter
* Custom engine wiring harness
* Fuel system rebuilt with Porsche parts
* All new plumbing
* K&N air cleaner
* Black ceramic coated headers and sport muffler
*Almost every nut, bolt, and washer yellow zinc plated
The car was recently serviced by the seller with an oil change. It participated in the the Telluride Cars and Colors and Million Dollar Highway driving events this past year without fault according to the seller.
The car is presently financed in part through the seller’s lender, and the loan will have to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner . . .'
